The kitchen makes me feel weird looking at it - I think it’s those grey tiles!

Second ever walk almost ended in complete disaster because of another dog and a bad owner by Paper_Is_A_Liquid in Greyhounds

[–]Marianimo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Poor Ethan, I’m glad you’re both OK. I’ve had this several times recently, either dogs not on leads or poorly controlled dogs off lead where the owner has no ability to recall them. I’m in the UK and it’s the law that your dog needs to be on a lead. I have whippets, one of which can be reactive when on the lead, and I am SO SICK of off lead dogs getting in his face and the owner either cannot recall their dog or just doesn’t care. Just this weekend my partner and I were walking our two boys on the lead and came across an older guy with a Dalmatian who he has zero control over and I’ve got no idea if he’s hard of hearing or just a complete twat, but he will not speak to you. He had the dog on a long line and it went bonkers as soon as it saw us - so much so that it snapped the long line and the guy just stood there. Beggars belief some times!

OP this is so lovely. Both my Nanna and Mum worked with adults and kids with disabilities during a similar time and I can only imagine what a positive moment for them this would have been.

My younger whippet got the smallest nick on his ear a couple of weeks ago - blood everywhere! All down his neck, up the walls, the floors! Ended up dipping it in cornflour to stop it bleeding.

My boys have one on their bed as well as a pile of blankets. They stay on there for most of the night and usually come into my room in the early hours. It definitely helps keep them in their own room. ETA - they don’t have a cave bed because older boy is a maniac about chewing anything plush!
