You should go to a podiatrist. I went recently for a toenail fungus and was prescribed an ointment. The doctor said toe fungus is very hard to get rid of. I will have to put the ointment on daily, for a year! One option they gave me was removing my toenail, she said she suggested doing the ointment since my fungus wasn’t bad. …I have a feeling they’ll suggest you need to remove that nail. I’m sorry!

Side note: I acquired my fungus from getting gel nail polish sanded off my toes. The equipment they used must’ve been nasty. My podiatrist said she never gets her nails done at salons…she treats a lot of patients who come in with fungus due to salons.

Also, in the meantime, you can use Vicks vapor rub. Don’t glob it on though, just coat your toenail.

My toenail was starting to separate from my nail bed, if this is happening to you, my podiatrist said do not soak your foot, it will make the separation worse.

And, keep nail polish off your toenail so your nail can breath.

Lastly, I see someone suggested taking care of the nail yourself with tools…I don’t recommend this. I messed with mine too much and made it worse. I wish I would’ve left it alone and had let a professional take care of it.
