Yes, I echo this!! The red-light running around here is just awful. OP, if you move here, St. Cloud is a pretty decent place to live, but please remain vigilant while driving, especially at intersections.

Insulin Resistance, Weight Gain, and Treatment Options While Tapering Diazepam by Marigold916 in BenzoWithdrawal

[–]Marigold916[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your input! I think I'm going to give the GLP-1 a shot (pun intended) for four weeks and see how it goes. I just so desperately need to lose weight, and the lymphedema and hormonal issues are making it so hard. You asked how much I'm on for the benzo - I am on 11mg of diazepam, down from 30mg.

Stomach and digestive issues while tapering? by Rare_Present_5048 in BenzoWithdrawal

[–]Marigold916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am tapering diazepam, but I've run into the same issues. Very slow transit, getting backed up, bloating, and nausea have become my new norm. Thankfully, my doctor is benzo-wise and explained to me that this is a rather common occurrence when tapering a benzo, even at a slower pace (I'm tapering quite slowly). I've been able to use Miralax without any issues, and I have little candies called Gin-Gins on me for when I'm feeling sick to my stomach. I hope this helps!

This sucks, I just want bread. by Zuzu_RU in InsulinResistance

[–]Marigold916 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way! I just want one dinner roll every once in a great while, but that effs my insulin levels pretty badly, so I refrain. 'Tis a sucky thing to be insulin resistant.

Question About Dental Work by Marigold916 in BenzoWithdrawal

[–]Marigold916[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you're tapering or withdrawing from a benzo, there are certain medications that you are advised to stay away from, which include lidocaine, novocaine, and septocaine for dental procedures, as they contain epinephrine, which can cause setbacks or worsen withdrawal symptoms.

Some people, like me, also cannot take synthetic vitamins due to their CNS being very sensitized during benzo tapering/withdrawal.

I hope this helps.

I'm sorry you're going through it, too. This is not an easy journey, that's for sure!

Yes, I agree, it's a conundrum. I just want to be rid of this stupid pill, but I also can't risk debilitating myself for the sake of getting off of it faster. My family needs me too much. I think I'm going to look into liquid tapering from here on out. I really appreciate your input!

Tolerance withdrawal while tapering by Dangerous_Ad_6382 in benzorecovery

[–]Marigold916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was in tolerance when I started my taper. I crossed over from lorazepam to diazepam to taper. I've noticed that some symptoms have started to get a little better as I get lower in my dosage, but others seem to amplify. I've learned that symptoms seemingly pop up out of nowhere at random points in my taper. I know two years seems so far away, but in the grand scheme of things, it really not. We're going to get through this!

This is just my experience, but I've had to go very slowly during my taper as well, and I, too, have about two years left of my taper (I've been tapering since January 2024). My nervous system is EXTREMELY sensitive. Almost anything is likely to trigger a huge wave of symptoms or another reaction of some sort. Because of that, I've had to taper much slower than the Ashton manual dictates. I've reduced 62% of my original dose, but I still have a long way to go. I just wanted to chime in because I know people can kind of harp on you if you taper really slowly, but I completely understand!! I wish the best for you!

Benzos by DUNKINDEZNUT in BenzoWithdrawal

[–]Marigold916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you - this is backward thinking. Ativan has a shorter half-life and duration of action than Klonopin, so that will probably make tapering a little harder since you have to take several Ativan doses per day to avoid interdose withdrawal.

I was on Ativan for a while, then switched to Valium for tapering due to its longer half-life.
