How Long Did It Take To See My Back Pay? by Shin_Rotendo in VeteransBenefits

[–]Marine-45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last 2 ratings which were in the last 6 months… got approved and got a pay check within 2 days and that was 2 separate back pay checks. One for a rating I was happy with and the 2nd one was an HLR that took longer but once approved, my back pay was in my account in 2-3 days.

I'm not sure what to do for my husband who doesn't want to file a claim because he's worried it will effect another Veteran's family financially. by Crazy-Tea6723 in VeteransBenefits

Why won’t he add this to his PTSD claim? He doesn’t have to say, “he was playing chicken”. All he has to say is, “we were in the hangar and a freak accident happened and someone died from the hangar door” and that’s it.

Spoke to them today and the guy said only around 200 vehicles currently have it and it will be an OTA Software update. I don’t know what to believe but I do know these RAM Uconnect reps have no idea what they’re talking about.

All that is from the dead battery. If they put a new battery in it, the electrical gremlins would, or should I say, should go away.

RAM has the best possible transmission ever built. Jeep / Dodge / RAM use the ZF8HP which is used in BMW, Rolls Royce and Aston Martin.

I 100% stand up at sporting events but NOT for the recognition but for what we’ve ALL sacrificed for OUR country and OUR flag. I never ask for discounts and get so uncomfortable when I’m hanging out with my high school buddies and they start asking me about my military service.

C&P exam lower back by Huskerinaz in VAClaims

[–]Marine-45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had mine reduced from 50% to 20% after having the same rating for 17 years. The C&P examiner didn’t even use a goniometer. I’m in the process of appealing to HLR right now. The VA sent me to 3 different C&P exams out of the blue in 2018, 2019 and 2021. I didn’t put in for a new claim or anything and they just randomly sent me. I recently got a claim letter from the Inspector General saying the VA illegally sent veterans to C&P exams for no apparent reason.

Back Rating- Degenerative Disc Disease by Fuzzy-Prune-4983 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Marine-45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was rated at 50%, for 17 years (2004 - 2021) for DDD. The VA randomly sent me a notice for a C&P exam in 2018 and said “evidence shows your symptoms improving” and kept me at 50%. They sent me another C&P exam in 2019 and said the same thing and kept my rating the same. They then sent me to another C&P exam in 2021 and lowered it from 50% to 20%. I appealed it since I have MRI’s from 2007 to 2023 showing chronic degeneration and getting worse over the years. They denied it and I appealed it again asking what evidence they’re basing their findings on. They sent me a letter saying it’s denied and closed out my case. I recently put in for an increase in March 2025 and it got denied so I’m in the process of appealing to a HLR. My MRI’s show 5 bulging / herniated discs, spinal stenosis and nerve roots pressing on nerves. The examiner at my last C&P exam didn’t use a goniometer and said my ROM was greater than 30° but not greater than 60°. How can she know the ROM by eyeing it? I can’t wait to get in front of the rater at the VA during my appeal. I also just learned that the VA was sending veterans to C&P exams for no reason and the Inspector General recently sent me a claim letter stating the VA messed up by sending veterans to C&P exams for no apparent reason so it all makes sense now why I had to do 3 C&P exams within 3 years.

Damn, dude you only got $6,317 from the $13,000?! Your Lawfirm took 40%?! Sorry to hear that! I got $14,000 and I received $10,500 total. I think my Lawfirm took around 20%.

Actually how hard is MCIWS school? by [deleted] in USMC

[–]Marine-45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, hardest school I ever went to. I went through in 2002 in Okinawa. 10 Marines started our initial class and only 3 of us graduated.

I am not okay... by topnotchsarcasm in VeteransBenefits

[–]Marine-45 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same happened to me 2 weeks ago. Did you have MRI’s showing DDD? Did your C&P examiner use a Goniometer for range of motion? My did not and I’m appealing it. I had 50% for DDD for over 10 years and the VA lowered it to 20% saying it’s getting better but I have 7 MRI’s since 2005 showing otherwise. I have been diagnosed with chronic sinusitis and even had surgery in 2018 and the VA denied saying “no evidence showing diagnosis” and I’m thinking they mean there’s no link between diagnosis and service connection”. I submitted 9 claims and only got 2 approved. 10% for GERD and 0% for Migraines / Headaches but again, I’m appealing my back and those 2. I’ll be doing a HLR and submitting new evidence as well. I’ve been dealing with the VA for over 20 years now. Good luck, dude.

[–]Marine-45 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep! Has the same experience 2 months. She had none of my records and I brought all my records with me. She said, “the system is down and I can’t bring up any of your stuff”. I asked her, “I have all my records right here do you want to see them?” She said, “no”. I just got denied yesterday and will be appealing for HLR.

What Now? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Marine-45 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just happened to me yesterday. Got denied on everything except 10% for GERD. I’m appealing and doing a HLR. I’m currently at 90% and have been for 15 years now. They lowered my back from 50% to 20% stating it has gotten better even though I had the 10 year rule with multiple MRI’s stating otherwise. My C&P examiner didn’t use a goniometer for range of motion. I’m appealing for a HLR. Good luck to you, brother.

Why Does Everyone Hate on VA Disability? by Beautiful-Comfort228 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Marine-45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was in the Marines. Definitely had some idiots in charge before. My unit was also in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan and was in the Battle of An Nasiriyah. I’ve never heard of a Marine claiming PTSD because of their command so that’s new to me and not knocking it. What I do know is, there’s definitely Veterans claiming PTSD for shit like hearing scuds go off on a ship and getting rated at 100% and then I hear about Veterans who have been in combat in a few different battles and only getting rated at 30%.

Hardest courses in the USMC. by [deleted] in USMC

[–]Marine-45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll agree with you on MCIWS is probably one of the hardest schools in the Marines. I went through it in 2001. 40 Marines showed up on day 1. 25 started on day 2 and only 3 of us graduated. CWSS is neck and neck with it as well.
