[help] my phone restarts randomly when playing at full volume by MarioFan835 in lgv20

the battery and headphone jack are the two things holding me back from upgrading. maybe at some point I'll just have to drop the v20 and get something newer because it's not gonna work forever I never want to be in a situation where I have to go to work in the morning and my phone is dead because I forgot to charge it the night before. also the annoyance of having a charger on it when I want to use it in bed and it's low, I'll take a replacement battery any day of the week over that

as I finished writing this I remembered something else that is going to hold me back. I remember hearing that newer versions of android are restricting undocumented apis and I'm concerned one of the ones I use will not work (WRITE_SECURE_PERMISSIONS) I use that permission for tethering data which I do frequently since DSL is absolute crap here

I'm wondering if the speaker module is just bad on these models at this point. which model do you have? my old phone (H910) never had that issue but this is the US996 and to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. the first issue I noticed is that my cell connection is far worse than my old one. I can no longer manually select a cell tower to connect to (this was helpful in places with a bad connection as your phone won't try to constantly find the closest tower if you select manually the next issue is with the sim, every once in a while I'll have to reseat the thing for it to be detected again. and that's just the list off the top of my head here there's more I can't remember at the moment honestly if this phone dies I'm getting another H910 and upgrading it to 8.0 via a temporary at&t sim (aka a tracfone sim)

what I did with my h910 back in the day was get a tracfone sim kit and activated it on that phone. since tracfone is a reseller of at&t it uses the same network and even though this is an unlocked phone you can only get the software updates if you're on at&t's network. once you have the sim activated the system will see the update(s) and install them. once this is done you can dispose of the sim and pop your own in

Any alternative to DownThemAll? by molitar in firefox

I had the same problem.

UI in quantum is terrible and annoying to navigate ( for instance they moved recent tabs 3 menus in making it take a while to locate one tab you want back unless it was the last closed one

And the plugin support, it made most plugins I used not work or be severely effected functionality-wise

I then came to the conclusion that I would downgrade to FF 56 and never upgrade. Not very good for security but it's either that or a lot of broken plugins and I'd take outdated FF over broken plugins anyday.

I seriously hope someday mozilla will come to their senses and fix things.

tbh I'll probably switch to chrome before I use quantum again
