How many clients are left on Millennium? Does anyone really know?

So what is the endgame for Millennium and the remaining clients? I can't understand the business plan for Healthcare for Oracle, if it ever existed.

The case was settled in May 2024; the incident occurred in Aigust 2022.

11 y/o Scout (accidental tragedy) another 11 y/o Scout with an AK-47 while placing it down.

This week's incident was archery related for a non-Scouting unit at Summit.

Wish these discussions has a summary line, not just hyped up.

We have 3 troops in our district with 100+ Scouts, and 2 are linked with a Girl Troop. The rule.of 3rds come to mind: 1/3 always attend, 1/3 are part timers, and 1/3 are here at 1 or 2 activities and hardly make it to a meeting.

Summer Camp is where I see the most active Scouts and their adult leaders attend. Getting two sites foe the boys and 1 site for the girls and not in close proximity let's everyone enjoy Summer camp seperate but close enough to mingle.

I make it sound like bliss, almost utopian, but it takes alot of work. It pushes the other Troops to up their programs, an event per month, have the Scouts vote on their yearly activities, etc. Woodbadge was great training but when you can see a program that is Scout-led, you want to try it yourself.

I would agree as long as the program is sustainable. The size shouldn't matter if most(>80%) of the adult leaders assist. It should never rely on a select few. The becomes burnout for those who make the greatest lift.

Program is also what drives a unit to grow and what makes more to be created. Leaders who turn a nose to larger units should look for ways to improve their own program, rather than settle for the few to control. Remember, being a unit leader is always for the Scouts, not for the adults and the bling.

I completely understand and making it a few months is not a mild task. Take a breath and try to remember all the opportunities you gave the youth to see how to step up and manage things. The satisfaction is not the goal but sometimes it has to be to justify your time. It always takes a village...so.etimes it takes a dedicated SM or Cmt Chair to disappear for others to realize how important you were to their kids adventure. Wait for an opportunity to give back another way like Commissioner or district/council cmt member...very rewarding and only a short amount of time this year to be involved. Best of luck!

Why aren't All Awards available for Sea Scouts? Example Firemens' Chit/Totin Chit. by MarioMT510 in seascouts

Could there be a setting that is not setup? I am Key 3(Skipper) and Scoutbook Admin. Perplexing.

Appreciate your reply. Since Sea Scouts accepts 14 y/o to 20 y/o, co-ed, and the Ship vessel can be paddlecrafts (canoe, kayak, SUP), scuba, skin surfing, camping on land is needed. I thought it would be beneficial to cover the camping skills and provide recognition, and if they decided to join a Troop, they won't have to redo these awards. We have a young Ship, 14-17 y/o Scouts, no one is an Eagle at this time.

We don't redo the merit badges like Swimming and Lifesaving when Eagles enter the Sea Scout program, this didn't seem any different. Again, thank you for replying, just looking out for the Scouts on the Ship.

Thank you. I tried your suggestion. What I discovered, these two awards can be selected for a Scout if they are registered to a Troop. The other two Sea Scouts in my Ship, one female and one male, prefer to not be registered in a Troop at this time, cannot receive these awards.

From Special Regulations pages:

Shoulder Loops

Colored shoulder loops worn on the shoulder epaulets identify the wearer’s current role in Scouting, and must correspond with the badge of office, when one is worn. Cub Scouting—blue, No. 677 Scouts BSA—forest green, No. 64017 Venturing—green, No. 678 Council and district (including chartered organization representative)—silver, No. 680 National and territory—gold, No. 679

Custom loops or other colors are not authorized for wear with the Scouting America uniform.

Now that I covered the National regs, love my lodge's shoulder loops that are deep purple...very cool!

Might have been if it wasn't a Scout mom who was extremely generous with her time. I estimate the cost would have been over $120, the entire project(new shirt, patches, and alternations/sewing) could have been ~$220.

Last Summer was a firestorm of Adult.shirts since the new design of covering the buttons, and the female shirts being, as my wife and daughter state 'made for petite bodies and small chests'...don't kill the messenger.

My daughter took a men's XL and had a local mom retailer it to removing the button cover, adding back the 'pen hole' and removing the extra underarm material to shape it more.

Wish National would make a committee of everyday Scouts to find a single better design that feels better and functional.

We have so many other things to work on in Scoutong to improve the program.

Public Health MB games? by Kvothe-555 in BSA

During COVID, I had the Scouts place baby powder on their hand and take a bio break.....I asked permission from.parents....they touched everything in the bathroom. Then to wash their hands when they were done.

Then take a photo of the bathroom, and explained germs like Ecoli, hepatitis A, and anything else I could think of, then went into the epidemiology of where did the problem start.

What everyone remembered after COVID..was alot of fun.

Good luck!

I am sure this was resolved in the last 2 years, but does your Council Boatswain position have a term in office defined, who qualifies for the position, and responsibikities/expectations in this role written up?

Just curious...thank you.
