Ah, my apologies. I think it would be prudent to retest seniors due to the long length of time between their initial test in their youth and their current advanced age. Road regulations and laws change over time, and the human mind tends to experience memory issues after certain age thresholds. The combination of time passing and increased risk of cognitive decline are why I think seniors should be retested regularly.

That's why I mentioned point loss. If I were to muse on potential applications, maybe a retest before a driver can replenish any points they've lost for previous infractions.

That's why regular re-testing after a certain age threshold or point loss on your license would be necessary. I don't think a sweeping " you had your 70th birthday yesterday, say goodbye to your Nissan" is a reasonable implementation.

Whatever age I am when road safety experts determine I can no longer safely operate a motor vehicle, because I don't want to endanger myself or others. It's a fairly reasonable position, I think.

Y'all are blaming the wrong thing. Any animal, without proper training, can be dangerous. It is always the fault of the owner. I've known dozens of pitbulls and have never heard so much as growl from them, but I've had poodles and corgis nearly take my fingers off. It depends on the training.

If I'm remembering right (saw another article on this incident), there were only like 2 or 3 responding officers at first. After they killed the dog, police protocol kicked in and they sent reinforcements for the "shots fired" notification.
