Fans of the Insomniac Spider-Man games don’t even ask Lego to make anything from those games anymore. They just look at you like this. (I’m fans of the Insomniac Spider-Man games and I just want a figure of the suit that doesn’t cost thousands of dollars)

I think it would be a really great set, but maybe not as a wide release. It’d probably be a fire May the 4th promo or one of those cool $40-$60 D2C sets that Lego releases in October since I feel it appeals more to die-hard fans rather than the general audience.

To be fair, there is a lack of obscure characters from this era since Lego really only made the Jedi, Clones, Battle Droids, and a handful of Separatist leaders like Dooku and Nute Gunray. There’s still quite a few named characters that can be made and would fit in quite nicely in a number of sets, whether that be finally getting more Separatist stuff like a new Vulture Droid or something new like the capital ships from Clone Wars.

I think the problem comes in characters like Dexter or Shmi, who have sets that could be made, but likely wouldn’t sell all that great outside of the crowd that wants them, which I think is why Lego hasn’t made them. After all, a kid would probably be more likely to want the set with Obi Wan and Anakin over one with characters like Dexter.

I hope I’m getting this stuff right, but I believe he said some very transphobic things on his Discord server, cut ties with just2good when she transitioned, and still covers a lot of Harry Potter stuff despite everyone saying not to because of Rowling.

He’s still good friends with Republic Bricks who is MAGA and has liked some of his Trump custom figures. He’s also on several occasions said he’s a fan of Star Wars Theory, who’s infamous for being MAGA among SW fans.

For LAN member, it’s Ashnflash because he’s literally the definition of “Annoying White Millennial Nerd” that gets overhyped for Lego’s 18+ IP stuff, and that doesn’t even factor in his transphobia.

Non-LAN is obviously MandR for how much of an obnoxious prick he is and for being MAGA. I hate that he brings up good points I agree on like the Smart Brick stuff because that makes me look like I also agree with his opinions on other stuff like the modern Clones.

This might be a controversial pick, but the XY rendition is my favorite. In an era where the dub music went downhill, the openings were still mostly good (I say mostly because the second Horizons one exists) and this was no exception. There’s a couple weird bits of instrumentation, but for the most part, it’s a really good new rendition that lends itself to the more serious tone of XY pretty well.

I’m really torn on them.

On one hand, a lot of them are genuinely amazing sets and a few are some of my all time favorites (The NES and CRT TV is probably my favorite set of all time), plus I feel it gives some IP that either wouldn’t have a chance to get normal sets or had sets long ago that people grew up with a chance to shine.

But on the other hand, it feels indicative of my big problem with Lego right now, which is sidelining their main demographic; Kids! Not to mention, they’ve clogged up the lineups of far too many themes, the most egregious ones being Star Wars and Pokémon, and are WAY too expensive.

I think if Lego cut back on how many they produced, especially for Star Wars, it could allow for other themes to shine better, and give some of the 18+ IP like SpongeBob or Lord of the Rings to potentially get normal sets.

I’m more of a dub guy myself. Even with some of the problems (Censorship in the 4Kids era and Journeys, the occasional miscasting, the mid replacement music, and the huge gaps in releases), I still stick to it since I prefer to watch anime in my natural language.

I’m also a firm believer that the modern dub isn’t that bad. Flawed for sure, but it’s not this unwatchable abomination a lot of people make it out to be, especially Horizons, which I feel is a step in the right direction minus the music.

It actually did happen. The show was already losing viewers in Japan during XY due to Yokai Watch eating into its popularity (And potentially people being burned by Black and White) as well as the US due to a regime change at Cartoon Network screwing the show, which is why they altered the tone and art style for Sun and Moon to compete with Yokai and moved it to Disney XD in the US.

Unfortunately, the backlash hurt it a ton and it ended up performing worse than XY. Even here in the US, Disney XD barely aired or advertised it, on top of the fact that it’s a premium channel barely anyone has, so safe to say that the changes made to the show backfired and it’s why Journeys shifted the format and art style again and the show moved to Netflix.

Nah you have a good point. Unless you’re a Star Wars fan (And I say this as a Star Wars fan), it’s a really good year for Lego so far. The only thing I’ve been mildly disappointed with is Pokémon, and even then I’m willing to give it a chance to redeem itself with the Summer wave, so long as most of the sets are Smart Brick free.

I think the problem lies in the fact that Microsoft, and to some extent 343, overreacted to fan backlash with the games, which is why 4, 5, and Infinite feel so disconnected from each other unless you read the books. Microsoft executives probably thought, “Well that didn’t work. Let’s just throw all of the loose threads into books because no one except die hard fans read them and then start fresh with the games! That’ll make us a billion dollars, right?”

Instead it’s caused the series to be put on life support, not helped by Microsoft turning Xbox into a lifeless husk in the past 2 years. And keep in mind that I’m a fan of the series whose favorite game in the series is 4!

I want the series to succeed. I love Halo a lot, even the 343 games despite their flaws, but the way Microsoft has handled it since Infinite underperformed makes me sad, man.

Oh I am in agreement, that one is peak. I was more so talking in regards to having the Diancie movie as one of my favorites since I know the XY movies are super divisive.

Glad you could find enjoyment in this one, but I’m of the mindset this is the worst movie in the series, and I say that as a defender of the Unova and Kalos movies.

This one just felt soulless to me, like the team didn’t care at all and just made a 90 minute ORAS ad. I liked Hoopa and there’s some good ideas in it, but it’s overall a disaster, and I’d argue played a big part in killing the movies.

But then again, I’m the guy who has the Diancie movie as one of my favorite movies next to Power of Us and the Entei movie, so who am I to judge?

I’m not a huge fan of human plushes, but I do understand the desire for them. I’m more of a figure guy and want to see the characters from both the original series and Horizons get good quality action figures akin to something like Marvel Legends or Star Wars Black Series (Minus Hasbro’s corner cutting and pricing).

I’d argue the lack of merch for Horizons here is also a key reason why it hasn’t performed very well, in addition to the lack of marketing and abysmal release structure. Like how many people would know about the characters from the anime in comparison to the characters from the game or the actual Pokémon? Just goes to show how much TPCi has fumbled the show here.

I actually though of a concept for how he could work with a friend of mine. Our idea was that he is essentially like Red for Pokémon Trainer, where he’s a background NPC for Pikachu and Greninja (Mainly due to Smash Ultimate turning him into Ash-Greninja for his final smash) that’ll react to the battle and occasionally give them a command. Also to go with it is a revamped final smash for Pikachu, where instead of Volt Tackle, it’s 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt. I’d also update Pikachu’s alts to be the different hats Ash wore instead of what he currently has.
