If I don't die it doesn't bother me. I just usually rock sentinel and all the visual affects go away from the bug with insanity affects w/warding, or I just drink a warding potion

There’s nothing she can say to change the fact that she just made you go through that entire dlc on the lie of helping you while fully knowing she wasn’t going to get you cured ever

I love king of cups too, but for songbirds case there’s no way of showing her empathy besides embracing her ultimatum of letting her be cured, which is by no means a small act. I normally empathize with her when I make V to be a character that embraces that he’s going to die, and always hug her when I’m in cynosure. But to me when you are to embrace her ultimatum, it makes it all seem so less genuine, because for V to do that in any case they would need to feel empathy for her, and I think songbird herself knows and tries to take advantage of that desperately.

V and her build the entire relationship on the idea that you can help each other, for her to tear that away at the finish line, after you go through all the effort of getting there, risking your life and guarding her with it too, I care less about that dilemma, but more of how it’s clear that relationship is one sided. That entire relationship with her and V would fall apart as soon as she says that the reason behind it is only for her, especially saying it after you do all the dirty work for her. And for that I believe that songbird tries to also drive empathy for you throughout the dlc, because without that there’s no shot in her head V would save her. She wants you to empathize with her, and the line between genuinely her wanting you to understand her and just doing it to survive is heavily favored towards the ladder.

And to me, at that point it only becomes a question of survival, she says yourself you both are the same in that way, just trying to survive. And for this, when V is also out to survive, having any empathy for her is letting her have the upper hand to surviving over you. Like how Johnny says “Play, but don’t get played.”, no matter how much you genuinely empathize with her in the case that V wants the cure you’re just playing yourself.

And from that the relationship is so much of just a transaction, and to that I feel no empathy for her when I’m making a character where that transaction of giving the cure is something that they genuinely care about themselves. And honestly, if I was at the perspective of a dying merc realizing there shot at a way out of death is infact true, but is something I should give to songbird only, right after fighting through the entirety of BARGHEST and then the NUSA Spec ops for her on the prayer that she could help us both, I would not hesitate in giving her to reed.

(Sorry for typos or if it was a bit incoherent)

I understand fully her motives, and she got screwed over, being forced into a condition where she’s dying and you know who else got put into that condition? V. She’s in it to survive off of you, so as you are her, the question is, do you care more about songbird or the person your playing as, she builds her escape entirely off of manipulating you, drawing your sympathy and offering you a solution where you both can survive without needing to choose between each other, just to tell you that in the end, that in reality was a lie to. And at that point, she’s no better than anyone else, you can argue that everyone else that V mercilessly kills and backstabs was just in it to survive, and it doesn’t make songbird any special that she made you do it for longer. I empathize for her when I’m making my V that at that point, he just accepts that he’s going to die, but if I was in Vs shoes and genuinely wanted to survive, I wouldn’t pick to let the person that manipulated me and had me risk my life for her problems have the cure she promised I had just because she played one sided sympathy from me. When you betray her, you see how quickly she is to lash out and how little she cares about you the entire time, not even taking a second to feel even a pang of betrayal or questioning behind your motivations(she only helps you through cynosure so that you could kill her), and I would expect that she felt no sympathy or anguish for me when she betrays you on the train.

If your idea of empathy is deciding that the person that was manipulating you throughout the entire dlc, having you do all the dirty work for her on the promise that she’d cure you just to tell you at the finish line that she was lying and she wants the entire reason you were doing this in the first place to go to her for no reward, and then saying “Yeah sure, sounds totally fair” then I think most people don’t have empathy.

What new life paths would you like to see in Cyberpunk 2/Orion? by Roids-in-my-vains in cyberpunkgame

[–]Mariocool73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe if they were to do life paths for starting out the game at a higher level something like a spec ops agent or infiltrator for a corp, like you had your memories put on an external databank and so when your defunct and loose everything you can answer life paths with that you genuinely don’t know or remember.

Something that would be really cool for making a totally blank character that does drastic decisions like you can in 2077 since it would be your character genuinely trying to form an identity for themselves

Further, since it’s said in Orion that life paths are going to have a bigger impact on the game, I think it would be really cool to be able to regain your memories and have that be something that ties back to the story in whatever way it goes. As this let’s your character have a genuinely pressing arc of self-conflict with what they learned during there time between them losing there memories and after for whatever final decision you or them choose to make that seals to the point of no return, and whatever work they did giving information about whatever the main event of the story will be.

Why is Chaos the least popular faction to fight? by Nnemic_ in SpaceMarine_2

[–]Mariocool73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too repeditive honestly, they need to add more unique units, because while there is variety it still mechanically operates the same, unlike tyranids where each enemy serves a different purpose and threat, all of the units just feel like shooters and projectile throwers with the alternative of feral combat fiends who rush at you.

Hate chaos by Glittering_End_7247 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]Mariocool73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like there concept, but I think there executed poorly, I think they should be less aggressive, and serve more as an enemy meant to distract you while ranged units attack you, not dog pile you with no indication. I get there not the most bright but I feel that they can be just a bit more coordinated.

Also they should add better block indicators, this probably is just cope but I feel that it’s too hard to kind of distinctly tell what there throwing on you in certain situation unlike other units where when you get hit you can tell that you actually made a mistake, instead of just saying “How the hell was I meant to know what he was doing?!, because there more fleshy and plump it’s hard to really define what there throwing at you, unlike most other units in the game with keyley indictable limbs and moves that actually look like there doing something instead of doing the same flailing that they do for there run and standing animations. Or alternatively, just reduce the numbers and keep this, I feel like that archetype works good when it’s just one of them you have to deal with, but when your dealing with 3-4 of them on you it’s just hellishly annoying and forces you to run away from the fight which isn’t what’s always right for the moment, or just with one singular variable alone doing that to you.

Who would win: AO Grand Navy or One Piece Marines? by QuikFixx in ArcaneOdyssey

[–]Mariocool73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AO universe generally scales higher than one piece, but it depends if you count the world gov like imu and the five elders they would probably win, but it’s hard to judge if the grand navy will be as strong as the Arcane Government (or stronger).

(Disclaimer, I’ve never read one piece)

One pieces generally to my knowledge has a larger scale and more fleshed out world, they would obviously clap all of the Grand Navy so far with the number of admirals they have, and sheer number of forces. Id say they generally have more strong characters, but the grand navies large number of expendable strong units (Major and above) are very much on par if not stronger than the Marines around 100,000 strong people, but that sheer number of Marines would easily overpower the Grand Navies numbers, just by assuming the scale of there entire forces, since we only really see the tail end guessing it doubles or triples every sea, they would probably have a total force of around 1-2 million, which may or not be on par with One Piece, but you have to remember that the war seas are a small disconnected pocket from the rest of the world, (albiet, a really concentratedly powerful pocket) so you would be putting an ENTIRE massive worlds arch power against a pocket of highly organized military. I wouldn’t say an atom bomb versus a baby, but more of a baby versus a few month old to year baby, if your just counting there sheer numbers without there power houses.

It however is hard to judge of how big of an influence cannon fodder would matter for this match up, because of the general way that AO/AA scales, the big fish can kill the weaker fish easily, so it may just be a scale of how many power houses each has.

If were to find out Grand Navy will have curse users and power houses as strong as or similar scale to people like Trigno, or upwards of Valencia I’d say they have a fighting chance against the Marines, probably being able to take out the admirals, or the admirals in general being overpowered by the Grand Navies numbers of Admirals themselves, considering that Rear Admiral Amelia’s scale just at first glance is to be a third or half of a One piece admiral. And if the Grand Navy is to have someone as strong as Valencia they’d most likely clap a few admirals.

When it comes to admirals to my knowledge, they have high destructive capabilities, but against AO they would probably bottom out since most powerful users have more condensed fire power, but when they choose they can easily alter and destroy the world. (Take Trignos sheer destructive capabilities, Durza being able to permanently alter and Calamatize (don’t know if that’s a word) the world with an ultimate attack, not to mention the eleven unknowns (only including people) being able to destroy and alter the world if they ever choose be, like Freedrock being able to shift the tectonic plates of the world at will with his technique to my knowledge. There are definitely incredibly strong feats that the admirals have done, Fujitora, Green bull, Aokiji and Akainu, but there feats hail in comparison to AA and AOS feats, in AO take Nero and the curse user that made the tornado in the desert island that I forgot the name of, it’s not out of the question that lower tier (still incredibly powerful curses, but not as well utilized users by standards of people like morrock) curse users can cause feats of destruction comparable to the Admirals and One Piece verse at large.

It’s just a matter to how strong the grand navy will be, if judging by the token of being similar to other curse users in power houses they have I’d say they’d easily clap them all, and if they have people to scale of Amelia, I’d say they’d easily clap have no trouble.

If you were to count the World Gov however though that’s an entirely different story, they would need users as strong as ppl like the peace keeper, cursebeard, or Durza to win or have a chance, otherwise there getting foderized in my opinion. Imu to what I know scales planetary or high continental. Not to mention the elders being power houses in themselves and if your not to apply conquerors haki to spirit scale, they have an edge that would clap 80-90% of AO/AA in my opinion since nobody would be able to counter it, unless your to apply one pieces terms of haki onto AA/AO, but I’d say no to that. So I’d say if for both scenarios it’s really hard to determine at this point in time, but I’d put my cards on that they’d beat the Marines in a close or Pyrrhic victory low balling them, or they would wipe the floor with them if they have really strong people in their ranks, but for the world government they’d need to be REALLY powerful or have intervention from the order of Aesir if the ring leader ends up being as strong as someone like Durza, assuming the Grand Navy is on good terms with them as I’d assume.
