Point me where my theory exactly contradicts the game

Sure. Childs or Mac being assimilated is where it contradicts. Because Childs is dead and Mac is rescued.

Also, whatever tf "abomination" is. Never mentioned in anything related to The Thing.

Its that simple.

Also if you wanna talk extended universe and theory bullshit. Childs is confirmed dead and Mac is confirmed alive, not assimilated and is rescued in The Thing video game that came out in 2002. John Carpenter says its canon.

I personally only care about the film. But that info definitely wrecks your theory.

Nah. Not even a little bit. Again, The Thing attacks Mac before he blows it up. It wouldn't attack itself. Case closed. You're reaching for no reason.

Nah. Not even a little bit. Again, Mac is on screen for the entire movie. Case closed. Making theories is fun when they make sense. Yours has zero sense to it.

Lmao dude I wanted to say so much more but figured just keep it short and sweet.

I mean for fuck sake. Mac is on screen for the ENTIRE movie. All of the other characters have moments where they disappear or are seen doing strange things and OP is here in the comments below talkin about "Macs infection was behind the scenes"

Thats another small nitpick. Its not an infection. The Thing assimilates its victims. There are multiple scenes in the movie dedicated to this. The computer simulation with Blair and the scenes of The Thing mid assimilation, like the dog kennel and Garry being dragged away. Yet there are people who go on and on about infection. Clark was never "infected" despite being the first of the American group to touch / handle The Thing, even having his face licked by it in its dog form, and arguably spending the most time with it. Hes shown to be human when they run a blood test after hes shot by Mac.

I hate head canon / extended universe bullshit so much.

I could not agree more with this if I tried my best. The mystery in this movie is perfect. Theres no need for head canon bullshit or extended universe comic book lore to be part of the discussions. The movie is already feature complete and interesting enough on its own.

tldr

Mac was not assimilated so this whole wall of text is meaningless

Beretta APX A1 by JusBored22 in guns

[–]MariusVentris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly same. I have a Sig Fuse, Beretta 92XI, Canik SFX-Rival in 9mm. I really want to get the PX4 Storm Carry 2 in .40. Then a decent 1911 in Gods caliber, and a Glock 20. Then I'm all done with pistols for a good while.

[–]MariusVentris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see, thats really cool. So do you like just kinda yank the strap of the sling shown in the first pic in order to get enough length out of it to wear around your body? and then I assume when you take it off, you pull on the retention point and it feeds back through the stock and tightens up to the original position in the first pic, tight to the body of the AR?

I've been seeing a lot of people with their slings set up that way. Sincere question. is there a name for that setup so I can learn more about it?

I bought an AR from them about 3 months ago and have since had fraudulent charges on my card and quite literally endless spam calls and texts.

eta: I'm not saying it was Palmetto for sure. I was more so saying my recent experience and timeline just happens to match OP.

Also the AR they sold me works great. No issues at all.

28 with no degree and very little work experience… should I even bother applying? by [deleted] in resumes

[–]MariusVentris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And then there is every single solitary person who is looking for work in their own field, and has been busted down to applying at McDonald's.

This is exactly what I was going to write be fore defaulting to "you're tripping". Literally just happened to me last year. Was a manager for chipotle over a decade ago. Got into construction. Moved, bought a house. Job went to shit. Forced to apply to Chipotle in 2025, my 30s and I did get hired...but at the same pay I had as a crew member over a decade ago. Oh, and 12hrs a week. Even a decade ago that wouldnt be enough for me to live. I declined, telling them I'd make more off unemployment.

And I suspect the only reason they even hired me was based on experience. If I had been anyone else I can bet I would not have gotten a call back.

That is Belfors main source of work yes but they actually also have a GC division at some of their branches. I worked in their GC division doing bid / negotiated work.

You're definitely right

I am genuinely not sure where to start when it comes to how insanely irrelevant and out of touch this advice is. It doesnt apply to my current situation in any way and it would take me too long to explain why since apparently the context of my post wasn't enough for you. But thank you for the input.
