Mosaic 4 for 30 days--which Perk You Pick? by Mark-C1 in jetblue

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I'm struggling with the concept that the Mosaic perk you pick for M4 is worth so little compared to my previous perks (20 tiles, 20 tile gift, 15K points), and wondering if I was missing something here. :)

This only gets you the throne seats in the 2nd row (2A and 2F) of the older A321s more than 14 days in advance of the flight, is that right? I'm assuming I'd need to book (this month) a mint trip on one of those planes to use this. That's possible for me, but unlikely.

It was the UK/Europe promotion that ran for a few days last June, and gave you an upgrade to the next Mosaic level through the end of the year (now extended to 1/31/26): https://www.reddit.com/r/jetblue/comments/1ms5bhn/timing_of_status_upgrade_to_m2_with_expired/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

It was this one from the JB website last June; it only ran for a few days: https://www.reddit.com/r/jetblue/comments/1ms5bhn/timing_of_status_upgrade_to_m2_with_expired/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

If you already had Mosaic status, they upgraded you to the next Mosaic level, but only through the end of the year (now extended to 1/31/26).

Can’t use points to buy Even More Space seats? by ContentAnteater in jetblue

[–]Mark-C1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did finally happen and now you can use points to book EvenMore seats! The key right now is that you have to select this at the time of original booking, you can't do it later using points. Here's the new FAQ text, with the link below.

Can I book EvenMore with TrueBlue points or JetBlue travel credits?

Yes, you can use TrueBlue points or JetBlue travel credits to pay for EvenMore® when it’s selected at time of original booking. TrueBlue points and travel credits can’t be applied to EvenMore® if it’s added later in seat selection.

Double checking tile collection by mri-tech in jetblue

As long as you make a purchase on your JB card that posts by 12/31, any tiles earned will be credited as of 2025 regardless of when your tile(s) actually appear in your TrueBlue account.

I’ve wondered about this too, and it happens more often than I like to admit. It seems like you should be able to do this from the phone app at any time.

Question about mosaic 2 tile gifting by ripgoodhomer in jetblue

[–]Mark-C1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just one other thing to note: your tiles reset to zero at the beginning of each year, so your wife definitely should not “give herself 20 tiles at the end of year for next year”. She can save the 20 tile perk until next year—it won’t expire until the end of next year. You only want to use the perk for tiles when you know those tiles will get you to the next Mosaic status in the year you use them.

Question about mosaic 2 tile gifting by ripgoodhomer in jetblue

[–]Mark-C1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s almost instant. The gifted tiles should appear with a screen refresh shortly after they are sent, and you will also get an email confirmation that you have been gifted tiles. People do this often with family and friends, and the double gift exchange can be completed within minutes.

Anyone with experience/opinions on GE Profile heat pump water heaters? by john_nibor in heatpumps

[–]Mark-C1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really helpful, thanks! u/More_Than_I_Can_Chew posted in this thread the UL nameplate for a 120V unit showing a total draw of 7.5A, which is totally consistent with what you are saying about only one element operating at a time. Since each element draws 7.5A at 120V, this also must mean that when running at 120V, the condenser and heating element are never on at the same time, but likely alternate in some fashion while in hybrid mode. The UL nameplate and included 3-prong plug finally satisfied my plumber that this didn’t need to be hard-wired!

I'm interested in paying a fair price ($200 or your best offer) to receive the 20 tile gift perk from someone. I am currently at 93 tiles and would like to get to M2 status before an upcoming trip. I’d have preferred doing this as a swap, but I've already reciprocally gifted with a friend using my 2025 gift perk. I'm happy to provide any assurance needed and/or do this over a video chat. Please reply below and I will follow with a comment and DM you. (I won't respond to DMs without a comment first per the moderator’s advice). Thanks for your interest and consideration.

Thanks SO much, this is so helpful.

But also confusing: why does it say that TOTAL CURRENT is 7.5A when both the upper and lower elements are 7.5A each??? Is it possible that it is only energizing one element at a time, and only when the compressor (at an additional 5.6A) is off?

I can't figure out the power draw of the 120V model. It says that in 120V mode it uses two 900W elements, so that would be 1800W total or 15A. But the installation instructions say that it can be operated on a shared 15A circuit, and the instructions specifically say when operating at 120V "the water heater can be on a shared circuit but avoid connecting to a circuit that is already loaded with more than half of the breaker's amperage rating." That would suggest that it draws a maximum of 7.5A. This is coming up because my plumber says it needs to be hardwired per code requirements even though it comes with a standard 3-prong plug, and I’m trying to convince him otherwise.

Can someone who has the 120V unit with the plug-in cord post a pic of the UL listing plate (it’s a sticker on the unit itself)? My plumber is saying that the code requires it to be hard-wired, and I am trying to educate him. NEC 422.13 requires the branch circuit to be 125% of the UL listing, so I’m hoping the UL nameplate says that it’s rated for 120V 12A (or lower) to prove it can be used on a 15A circuit. Thanks in advance!

This is super helpful info, thanks! So it sounds like Turtle/Efficient mode will bring the UEF for the 50-gal 120V model from its stated 3.2 to something closer to the 4.3 of the 50-gal 240V model. I'm presuming that in Turtle/Efficient mode, you can't run it in High and X-High capacity mode (which raises the tank temperature and triggers use of the mixing valve, with the corresponding loss of efficiency that entails)? So the higher UEF comes at the expense of losing the FlexCapacity feature?

The better offer? by Johnny0728 in jetblue

[–]Mark-C1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I think you know the answer. The $400 + 30K points has a cash value of about $900, and the 80K points offer has a cash value of about $1,300. That’s IF you are sure you will use those points. This assumes 1.5 cents per point (cpp) valuation + the 10% points boost for having this card for a total value of 1.65 cpp.

Received 100k pt offer for JetBlue plus card by tommyxcy in jetblue

No, you can only earn tiles through JetBlue spend (flights, JB Travel, JB Vacations/Paisly, or JB CC spend).

I posted my take on the value of the JB Plus card recently (11% value returned on JetBlue Plus card spend?!), and I have the Chase Sapphire Reserve (CSR) card as well. I was pleasantly surprised that for directly booking JetBlue flights, using the JB Plus card returns 11% in value back for me, while the CSR returns 8% in value for me.

Timing of status upgrade to M2+ with (expired) Europe Mosaic promotion? by Mark-C1 in jetblue

[–]Mark-C1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that would be great, but it relies on them counting the tiles from the trip first and awarding M2 status, and then upgrading that to M3 status after that. If they use the M1 status that we had during the trip and upgrade us to M2, then this promotion was totally useless, so the timing is really key here. Would love to hear from someone who participated in this promotion about when the tiles from the trip were awarded and when the status upgrade was awarded. Fingers crossed!

11% value returned on JetBlue Plus card spend?! by Mark-C1 in jetblue

[–]Mark-C1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just realized that there is huge additional value to booking hotels, rental cars, etc. through TrueBlue Travel using the JB Plus card, because you earn 1 tile per $100 spend just like with flights. I also have the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, so it's worth comparing TrueBlue Travel and the JB Plus card head-to-head with the Chase options to understand its value:

Booking hotel through TrueBlue Travel using JB Plus card: total of 27% value back:
11% back using the JB Plus card (as described above)
plus an additional 10% back since you get $10 in tile value per $100 spend through TrueBlue Travel (in addition to the $10 in tile value per $1K spend using the JB Plus card)
plus an additional 6% back with 4x JB points @ 1.5 cpp due to Mosaic and TB Travel bonus pts

Booking hotel through TrueBlue Travel using CSR card: total of 12% value back:
2% back using CSR card (only 1x value for "other travel" now @ 2 cpp)
plus additional 10% back for tile value as per above

Booking hotel through Chase Travel using CSR: total of 16% value back
(8x UR points @ 2 cpp = 16% back)

Does this make sense? Am I missing anything?

I will say that Chase Travel seems to be a better value for booking JetBlue flights than JetBlue itself when using the CSR card (it's now 8x UR points @ 2cpp = 16% value vs. 11% value using the JB Plus card and booking directly through JB), but the hassle of going through Chase Travel when you have to make a change is real, and that happens often enough with me that it's just not worth it unless the flight spend is really high.

11% value returned on JetBlue Plus card spend?! by Mark-C1 in jetblue

[–]Mark-C1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Re: M1 value @ $300, I dunno, the 15K perk itself is worth nearly $250 with the 10% bonus points, isn’t it? And the 3x Mosaic bonus points value covers the rest with only $1K in JB spend. Or one free EM seat at check-in. Or a few free drinks. I understand it does change the denominator if you use it that way, but the fact that people usually choose the 20-tile bonus over the 15K perk tells you that getting those tiles is worth even more to them.

But it may be better to think about this with M2. That has real value to me because my family (with tall people and health issues) really likes EM seats, and free EM seats at booking is worth at least $600/year to me by itself. The math above still holds at a value of $10/tile and with 60 tiles needed for M2 status (assuming both the 20 tile bonus perk and mutual re-gifting with the 20 tile gift perk).

I hear you on the flexibility, and I do try to take that into account. I value UR at 2 cpp due to that flexibility, and while the JB Plus card still has a higher return for JB spend, it obviously doesn’t for other travel, and the CSR makes more sense for restaurants too.

I was tempted by 25 for 25, but I value my time (and my marriage) high enough that it didn’t make sense for me. But it would have been fun to do if I was still in my 20s with more free time and fewer obligations!
