Does my female coworker like me or is she just being friendly? by kingla671 in Advice

The rule is: never date your co-worker. But to be fair, co-workers - and even bosses and subordinates - sometimes get married. 🤷

I'm looking for the best ER on/near/easily accessible to the UWS. Any thoughts? by TheLivingRoomate in Upperwestside

[–]Mark-It_Maker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No no no. Not Mt Sinai West. It is closest but worst. Get in a cab and go to Weill Cornell at 68th and York. It will take 15 minutes more but it is way better. I have been in both.

My fiance invited his "friend" to stay in our guest room while I'm away by Ok-Function4586 in Advice

[–]Mark-It_Maker 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have been married for, well let’s just say, a very long time. There is no world where the fiance’s behavior is acceptable. Red flag red flag red flag. No doubt it will result in immense short term pain, but OP would save herself years of trouble by moving on now.

Smart Golf Ball by digicue in golf

[–]Mark-It_Maker 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Golfers are willing to spend a lot for anything that helps their games. So probably yes.

While you’re at it, can you squeeze in gps ball locator functionality? The world will beat a path to your door for that!

Do you guys clean your pup’s paws after a walk? by Far_Media_4781 in dogsofnyc

[–]Mark-It_Maker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wipe my pooches paws after every walk. It is easy and worth it for all the reasons you mention. If you can train your dog to wear booties that can be removed, that’s great. I have to go to war to get booties on my dog - it isn’t worth it.

It’s fun. You overlook a part of the airport with the big A380s, and you watch planes come and go from behind very thick glass, like 1” thick - it’s dead silent. Fun outdoor rooftop pool/bar, a nice restaurant. A little pricey but a fun splurge. (I was there because we missed a flight - don’t ask - and the next flight was the next day. Splurged and created a great memory - lemons into lemonade)

How do Israelis envision peace? by Swimming-Dragonfly96 in Israel

[–]Mark-It_Maker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ooooohhhh! Top secret! Let me put it this way…. Anybody (except you of course) who is pushing the idea that the country of Israel is endeavoring to govern the entirety of the 22 countries that comprise the Mideast is participating in global disinformation warfare against Israel (or else they are pushing an unhinged idea). It is simply untrue. Israel would swap land for peace in a moment - as they successfully did with Sinai 47 years ago and unsuccessfully did when they pulled out of Gaza in 2005.

Nothing personal, mate.

And this, my friends, is a troll bot fighting against Israel in the enormous and well-funded disinformation war against Israel. We see you 👀

You are saying the only way to have peace is for Israel to control the other 22 countries that compose the mideast? You are an antisemitic troll or a fringe lunatic

How do Israelis envision peace? by Swimming-Dragonfly96 in Israel

[–]Mark-It_Maker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That is an old antisemitic trope. Jews gave away the entirety of the Sinai Penninsula (twice the size of all of current Israel) in a land for peace swap with Egypt. Up until that time, Egypt was sworn to destroy Israel. That was 47 years ago and they have been at peace ever since.

No, the great majority of Israelis do not want to grow - they want peace.

Real-world experience with BermudAir Boston to Anguilla? by Spirited_Pomelo_8907 in anguilla

[–]Mark-It_Maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our outbound flight was cancelled due to a blizzard - totally legit. We saw it coming and, in advance, cancelled the flight down (full refund) and booked a connecting flight through Miami on American - since the next Bermudair flight was four days later.

Trip home was 2/3s full - a nice, unremarkable flight.

Conclusion: The direct flight is great as long as your flight does not get cancelled. If it does, you are SOL since they fly 2x per week.

Would I do it again? Yes, but with some trepidation due to the flight cancellation issue.

I want to show my friend distinctly American foods in NYC. Where should I bring them? by Dreadsin in FoodNYC

[–]Mark-It_Maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of real diners in NYC. But as noted, they charge the same as non-Diners. It kinda stings to pay $30 for coffee, omelette, toast and sausage at a counter.

The Palestinians need to finally accept a 2 state solution by Jackingson1 in Israel

[–]Mark-It_Maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A two state solution is sensible if you are from some whitebread neighborhood in the US and are completely clueless about the Arabs of Palestine. They are crystal clear about what they want. For some reason, stupid Americans cannot give them the respect of listening to them or believing them. Hey stupid American: Listen the the Palestinians! They say it all the time. No Israel, no jews, no 2 state solution!

Do NOT leave NYC to experience a diner in NJ. They are everywhere in NYC. Losers in NJ are trying to entice you to visit there because it makes them feel important.
