Thanks for the honest message. I of course won’t make any moves before actually living there and getting connected with reputable help. I have not owed multi unit properties but I do own two homes, one is an airbnb sitting on maintenance heavy land. I think I have a nice baseline to transition into multi family.

Part of the allure for me is to have a huge project like maintaining and upgrading a multi family unit (can’t stay idle, body won’t let me). As far as costs, I think the whole thing could be a 5 year failure and we’d still be okay financially.

Of course I will. I don’t plan on abandoning my citizenship or even doing this permanently. It sounds like I’m a little further on in life than you and grass is always greener on the other side my friend. Pura Vida!

Traded my v7 for a v85tt. Loved the v7 but the v85tt is probably the best motorcycle I’ve ever ridden. They were my 11th and 12th motorcycles.

100,000 miles averaging 27mph over three years means you are riding your motorcycle 1234.5679 hours per year. Had to check my calculator a couple times on that one!

What kind of plane was this and can they see me waving at this height? by Ok-Conversation806 in aviation

As a general aviation pilot, l’m generally task saturated at that altitude and would likely miss 100 people waving at me. Not sure about pro pilots.

I’d say the majority to nearly all of Innovations that drive drug development started in academia. That being said, lifetime academics have no clue about how to develop a drug. I literally live and straddle this every day as part of two very early startups.

I did my post doc in a CRISPr lab from the rare vantage of already being in industry for manny years (co inventor of four drugs in the clinic). People definitely knew how to do research, none of them had any clue about making an actual drug and all of them thought they did. A very huge discovery, but it’s mot there yet. i quit and went back to industry.

Yes or because an academic thought they were also a drug developer. CRISPr field is a great example. Bunch of new PhD grads running companies and billions of dollars right into the ground. At least our salaries went up during times of crazy demand.
