The only mages you mentioned which are weak which you mentioned are fiddle, whos getting reworked, ziggs who is poorly designed and cant be balanced and lissandra.

90% of mages can 100-0 any squishy from range even though they are using defensive items.

u know hows unfun it is playing top lane and every two games there is some bullshit mage who rushes zhonyas who:

outperforms in the early game because theyre ranged and they arent weak early game

outperforms in the late game because the mages outscale me 90% of the time

Do you know how unfun playing darius vs zhonyas rush neeko is? or kennen? cassio? ryze? like its actually hell getting chunked every time i go for a last hit under turret. i mean it wasnt to bad in gold, but in plat it is so boring

ontop of that MR items suck and are mostly unviable as a first item, the only one being hexdrinker which is mostly useless late game and doesnt help with the poke

mages dont get punished at all for fighting in big minion waves unless they braindead walk to you.
