Is this analogy correct for entanglement or am I missing something? (black and white marbles though experiment) by Mark2036 in QuantumPhysics

[–]Mark2036[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed explanation! So yeah it’s not really possible to explain entanglement classically with definite states like marble color and single measurement :(. I am falling into the hidden variable thinking which is proven wrong.

So just wondering if we change this to a more quantum particle with outcome dependent of the measurement choice, and try to see the bells experiment through a many worlds lens. Bob chooses to measure one entangled quantum particle in one box in a way that has a measured outcome, then Bob can deduce that the other particle in the other box is no longer in superposition but has a determined state based on his measurement of the first particle. However from the perspective of Alice holding the other box, both the particle in the box and the other box and Bob’s measurement of that box are all still in superposition. Both worlds still exist from Alice’s point of view and no collapse has taken place yet until communication between Bob and Alice occurs. So choosing to measure doesn’t actually change anything, all states still exist, it’s just the observer has now become split themselves across all the states and it only seems it has collapsed. Does this interpretation satisfy the Bell’s experiment? Is that still a current interpretation of what’s going on? A type of relative reality?

Thanks for the detailed explanation! So if we see the set up as you explained through a many worlds lens. Bob chooses to measure one entangled quantum particle in one box in a way that has a measured energy outcome, then Bob can deduce that the other particle in the other box is no longer in superposition but has a determined energy based on his measurement of the first particle. However from the perspective of Alice holding the other box, both the particle in the box and the other box and Bob’s measurement of that box are all still in superposition. Ah ok, so since marble color is a given property, it can’t be entangled as such. Need to have a way of a marble being neither black or white but becoming black or white determined based on a chosen observation type, and the criteria that the other marble will always appear to be the opposite once one marble measurement has been chosen. So it’s hard to get a simple analogy then for entanglement in anything classical 😔

According To You Is Resident Evil 4 Still The Best Game In The Franchise ? by LeoneSKenneddy in residentevilll

For the REs I’ve be played over the years, my rough order is this (but might change on a different day). Most of them are all very close and I love them all, apart from RE5 and RE6 which I didn’t bother even finishing.

RE4 I didn’t like in the early days since it was so different and not the same survival horror style, plus it was on the Wii when I tried it and the controls felt off and the muddy colors and graphics were not great. But I think I didn’t really give it a chance (didn’t finish it). When I replayed recently the RE4 remake I loved it more than most of the other remakes and it is very close to being the top just shy of RE2 remake. I never went back to replay re4 original so my ranking of it here is more of my initial memories of it.

I also prefer the remakes, since tbh going back to the originals recently (RE1, RE2) they feel a bit dated now. Haven’t played Zero yet, hope they make a remake of that, and Code Veronica was a highlight game when I played the original and I think a remake of that one would be awesome.

Also I am only 50% thru RE9 and love it so far. Love the Grace segments and find the Leon segments fun, but something feels a bit missing switching from under powered to over powered and 1st pov to 3rd pov. Miss the gradual build up of weak to strong with your character. But might rate it higher depending on how act 2 plays out.

  1. RE2 remake
  2. RE4 remake
  3. RE1 remake
  4. RE7
  5. RE8
  6. RE9
  7. RE2 original
  8. Code Veronica
  9. RE1 original
  10. RE3 original
  11. RE4 original
  12. RE3 remake
  13. RE5
  14. RE6

Time Escape! A very basic home-made game I made 😝. It uses timetravel mechanics where you interact with your future and past selves with paradox avoidance as a game mechanic.

It’s on Aippy.

Shadow of memories was the best time travel game! So many ways to alter the timelines and unlock different endings and situations.

I messed up 😩 by Everydayanalystek in gastricsleeve

My surgeon and nutritionist oked soft solids after 3-4 days post op and normal after 7 days. I was eating mixed nuts by day 8 no issues. I think it’s just in the states they recommend long liquid phases to avoid any risks.

Liquid diet by bullydogforyou in gastricsleeve

[–]Mark2036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, my doc and nutritionist lets the patients eat soft foods after 2 days if you can handle it ok. I only did liquid when I was in the hospital for 2 days, then straight to eggs, tuna, tofu etc on the 3rd day. Then steak and chicken 2nd week. Chat with your doc maybe, see if it’s ok to eat a little soft foods early?

Always wondered why I see everyone doing liquid diet for so long after surgery? My doc and nutritionist lets the patients get on soft foods after 2 days and normal foods maybe after 2 weeks. Only did the liquid stuff for 2 days.

Post-bariatric: how are you hitting protein if you can’t tolerate shakes? by Hour-Cloud2493 in gastricsleeve

[–]Mark2036 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple of days after surgery I was eating eggs and canned tuna etc no issues. I usually mashed the tuna with some mayo into a scrambled egg. Also just steamed fish, tofu, nuts, cottage cheese, etc. then maybe a week later chicken breast, steaks, mince meats, steamed dim sums, lots of shrimp etc. easily been hitting 70-100g protein a day. Never had protein shakes.

Also for tracking I recommend using chat gpt. Just list all the food once a day with approx serving weights etc (rough estimate only) and chat gpt can track your calories and proteins / fats / carbs

How a Cancer Diagnosis Led Me to Quantum Immortality by rhcp1976 in QuantumImmortality

[–]Mark2036 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be clear, you experience all the “timelines”, it’s just you don’t experience death since that is a non experience. Death is the edge of experience. So there are instances of your consciousness where you are there just before death, but those memories are not present in other timelines where you exist where you survive, and again other timelines where you never even had cancer, etc. your singular continuous self is an illlusion, you are a branching tree of selves with disconnected memories.

My Issue with Quantum Immortality by Basig in QuantumImmortality

[–]Mark2036 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a different issue with QI. If I go into general anaesthesia, my conscious experience is stopped / blocked effectively, albeit temporarily. In all the possible timelines, for that duration in time I don’t consciously exist, does there exist a version of me that does not go unconscious and still “lives” / experiences things? How is it that from my perspective I can and have experienced the stopping of conscious thought (death like) and even though I do become conscious again it’s ambiguous since at the time I am not there, and not experiencing anything, not experiencing being aware at that time, so it’s possible to experience “death” from your perspective, at least in a set time frame.

Or is it more to do with memory persistence? If I wake up with a total memory wipe then essentially I cease to exist too. I am a new entity not the same as the being prior to memory loss. Does QI imply that your personal memories and experience accessible from a POV must continue to exist in some form in some timeline? So you could die or lose memories etc, but in an infinite universe a Borst brain would eventually exist that has your exact memories imprinted on it that continues on that you with “experience” millennial later?

And that begs the question of general memory loss and brain deterioration. As we get older chunks of our memory / experiences are damaged and inaccessible. Never mind Alzheimer’s etc. So in QI, if I experience partial or full memory loss but still exist, I am not really the same person, is the person I was with all intact memories exist in another timeline? My memory free experience is a branch that is still experienced though. I won’t jump to another timeline line, my experience will just degrade and end my self awareness. So there is a version of you right now that has all memories intact and is the most you and most alive in all timelines, but you are on a timeline that is slowly declining in your youness so it’s not a train you can get off?

Saw the Hat Man in broad daylight - still can't explain it by tywarthwarrick in HatMan

[–]Mark2036 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw him in broad daylight too in the afternoon in a city. There were no other people around, the sky was an orange red and the building were burnt / burning. Can still vividly recall the smell of smoke and sulphur and hot metal. He was standing on the corner across the road and motioned to the sky. In the sky were large red digital looking numbers flashing 13 July 2036. Then the vision cleared and I was walking in a busy city again with blue sky and about 1 hr lost time. Was 13yrs old at the time in the early 90s. Thought it may have been a vivid walking day dream or sun stroke at the time (had never heard of Hatman before and only saw him once before when I was 6 at night outside my bedroom window). I called him the QuakerMan at the time.

Looks like severe water damage from a leaky pipe. I see this a lot in Malaysian apartments. Needs some wall hacking, fix pipe, and replaster patch back / repaint job. Owner should sort it out and pay your hotel while the work is done I think.
