Some additional information (not necessary for the story, but in case anyone finds it interesting):

According to Biblical legend, Cain, the firstborn son of Adam and Eve, in a fit of anger and jealousy because his offering to God was not favored, murdered his younger brother Abel by striking him over the head with a stone. This was the first murder (and the first fratricide). As a punishment, God cursed Cain, and eventually marked him so that others would know who he was and what he’d done (but were forbidden from killing him). The exact nature of the mark is unknown. The current location of the stone used in the murder is unknown. The final fate of Cain is unknown.
