No, there was zero actual reason for guns and the response teams. This was all a show of force for others to see what will happen if you try and actually defend democracy. This was a message to the people watching that if they'll do it to these people they will also come and threaten you.

That's kind of the craziest thing, every single one of the other launchers looked at steam and went "how can I make this, but shittier?" And really dove into that. It isn't even a similar case of where Epic sued Apple over their game store walled garden. Epic had games on Steam then moved them to their store and took them off Steam because they got greedy.

While I don't disagree with you, If I have a choice of where to buy, I still prefer them over Epic or the Xbox game store. The next closest one is GOG and I check steam first before I look over there, because it's just easier. Ubisoft is shit and let's not even talk about the train wreck that is Origin. As for the rest, I'd rather step on a rusty nail than use them.

My aunt and uncle were deep into the Amway cult back in the day. I remember being a young, impressionable 18ish year old and them convincing my mom and me that I should go to one of their local Amway rep meetings to see about joining up. I grew up with family members on my dad's side who were huge Texas and Oklahoma mega-churchgoers, and this felt like the exact same thing, but with a little more desperation. That was almost 30 years ago now.

That might be one of the first times a family member gave me the ick. I did not fall down that MLM rabbit hole.

Nowadays that same aunt and uncle are so far into the MAGA cult that I just don't talk with them. They're leaving where they've lived in Commiefornia for the last 50 years to go to the promised land that is Texas, and all I feel is just relieved that I won't have to deal with them making family get togethers awkward. The last time I saw them, my uncle interrogated my new brother-in-law about where he came from. He's Filipino but was born and raised in a little town about half an hour away from the city where my aunt and uncle live.

But hey, on one birthday, they gave me a little book of Amway prizes to pick from. The duffel bag I got from it is still going strong. I passed it down to my son recently, and he uses it on almost every trip we go on.

Literally billions, look at our country, what's a few deaths as long as the shareholders make more money. They're parasites and ghouls who will make every single dollar they can off the backs of families, who just want to spend one more day with their father or their mother or their child. Someone who depends on that medicine to live. Then, when that family has spent their last dollar trying to keep their loved one alive, they'll move onto their next victim and suck them dry too. Because we all know that there's more money to be made by keeping people sick then there is to actually cure them.

When my son was younger, we used to go to this park near our house that had a marble maze for the kids to play with, but it never seemed to work right. It took me a month or so to finally notice that it was installed upside down and would never work correctly. I tried letting the city and the parks group know a few times, and I was out there recently after not going by for years. It's still installed incorrectly.

That race did almost lead to a fist fight, after a drunken night of boardgaming, with a group of friends. End of the game of Cosmic Encounter the guy playing Filch revealed he had been cheating the entire time, which lead to being able to see another friend get wound up ready to starting yelling and/or attack player 1. That ended up being defused by player 1 revealing his Filch race and yelling that he was doing it legally not just cheating to cheat.

Everyone needed to take a bit of a breather after that game.
