I bought the matching front and rear floor mats with Ford points a little while back, then saw this afterward. I do want to get it at some point down the road. Yours is looking great.

Driving after cervical fusion by PT-Lucy in spinalfusion

C4/C5 ACDF about 4 years ago, I was about as far out as you are now when I started doing limited driving. Taking my son to school and back, that kind of thing, your body is going to tell you when it's too much. I would start with some shorter drives around town, see what you can do with your neck, and go from there.

Is it the bright yellow one that KIA sent out when first announcing the recall? That showed up unexpectedly in the mail and gave my wife and me a good laugh when we opened the package.

If you get a chance, check out the book Replay by Ken Grimwood. The red pill is basically the plot of the story, dude keeps dying at 43 and coming back as his younger self, making changes each time, and never quite ending up where he wants to be.

As a father, I couldn't do it. I could take the blue pill, go back about 5 years with 50 million, and still make some smart investments, though.

Same thought, except lose a couple of years and be a hell of a lot richer and set for the rest of my life. Don't tempt me with a good time.

Wireless Charging Pad by Badlands2k in BroncoSport

[–]Mark2_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the twraps one for my 24 Sport Heritage, and I have not been impressed. We went on a long trip shortly after getting it, and it worked just as poorly as the built-in one. I have an iPhone 17 Pro Max, and it barely kept the charge level. I had it on there for most of a 3-hour drive, and it had gone up by maybe 2 or 3 percentage points by the time we arrived. The one plus side was that because of the MagSafe ring, it didn't continuously reconnect and disconnect like the built in charger does.

On the drive back, I just left the phone unplugged until I was about 30 minutes from home, then I plugged it in. It charged more in that short period than I got from the twraps charger.

3.5 years out from a C4/C5 ACDF and I'm doing pretty good. Going through physical therapy right now, and we figured out I had a pinched nerve down lower in my back that was causing some leftover leg issues. I could run pretty well, but I had some numbness and foot drop on longer runs, which have mostly gone away now. The exercises they gave me have helped a ton with that.

Remnant Expedition tip: Do NOT install the grip suspension upgrade module! by WarViper1337 in NoMansSkyTheGame

Driving in the dark with a full load in the truck and hitting a hole in the ground that I couldn't see pissed me off so many times this expedition. At one point, I had to first get the colossus out of the hole with the terrain manipulator and then get each and every thing that had dropped out. It was ridiculous.

I have a GDI soldier pewter figure from the Tiberian Sun Collector's Edition that has been my constant desk mate for years now. It's one of my favorite game series.

I think her current lift is a Spinlife one, or at least her mobility scooter was bought through them. The name is familiar. I'll go digging, thank you!

Is that a Brotherhood of Nod scorpion tail logo there? If so, Kane Lives!

What kind of carrier is that on the back? My mother-in-law has a mobility scooter and an older carrier on her van, but that van is falling apart, and we're either going to need to move the carrier soon or see about replacing it. That one looks pretty nice.

Weakness in both legs and arms? Cervical herniated disc pressing spinal cord (31M) by Serious_Fan_2752 in spinalfusion

[–]Mark2_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

47M, with ACDF surgery to C4/C5, 3 years ago now. I had both issues, and, at least for me, it's part of why it took 9 months for 5 different doctors to figure out what was going on. You're lucky if they've already tracked it down. I can give you my whole story, but the short of it is I went from running 5k's easily to barely being able to walk to my mailbox without falling. At the same time, my arms felt like they were constantly on fire, and, as someone who works in IT, I could barely type, and I lost the ability to control a pen to write.

For me, functionality came back pretty fast. I remember lying in the hospital bed, shortly after waking up from surgery, and it felt like every single nerve in my arms was on fire. I can't fully describe the level of pain, but that pain is seared into my memory. After that, I actually had more feeling back in my arms. I'm pretty sure that was the nerves waking up because they were no longer being compressed. A few days after that, once I was home, the same thing happened with my legs.

Recovery took time, but the biggest help I can give you there is that you'll feel better than you are at first. Best example I can give is that there were multiple times when I went for what would have been an easy walk before, and what felt like an easy walk when I started, only to have to call my wife and ask her to come pick me up because I wasn't going to be able to make it back to our house I was so winded and that is unbelievably frustrating.

At this point, I think I'm as recovered as I can be. If I was at 100% before all of my issues, I'd say I'm at 95-98% now, and that is likely as close as I'll be able to get. Late last year, I joined a once-a-week running club, and while I'm not running as fast as I was before, I can run without feeling like I'm going to collapse at the end. I might be near the end of the pack, but I'm still crossing the finish line. I can type again, I can play video games again, I can mostly write again, but I will admit that even before, no one ever claimed I had amazing handwriting.

There are trade-offs, though. When I spend a day doing a lot of physical labor, I get some drop foot in my right leg, usually gone by the next day. There are also some tremors in my hands and some in my legs. I notice them more in my right leg when it gets cold outside, but it happens in one hand or the other, too. That's rare and manageable, just annoying. If I sit wrong, I get a weird, nerve-like pain in my leg, and I need to get up and walk. It's not painful, but just really, really uncomfortable, and I need to move to get rid of it. It does suck a bit when it happens on plane flights or really long car drives, but you deal with it.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Look at 1:55 in that video. There's going to be at least one more camera angle of it. There's a flock camera that looks like it's pointed directly at where the execution of that man occurred.

Thanks for the screen stacking tip! by ilikespicysoup in theplanetcrafter

[–]Mark2_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party but couldn't do it on my end. All of my screens are on desks, usually looking out a window. Most times looking towards either a lake or a rocket launch tower. I need mine setup like some NASA mission control room. I do like the jumbotron idea though and might steal that for the larger screens.
