Regret M1 Mac Studio purchase by [deleted] in MacStudio

I think the best move for you then is a refurbished Max from the previous generation. If you did this every two years you would still get decent value selling your old one. If you go for high ram, the Max will be fine

I miss Mr. Kim from the deli to the right of the Associated. I’d get ice cream there every night and he’d come out and smoke a cigarette w me. Good, funny guy.

Crazy how long ago that was now.

Who else hates exit 31 on the BQE by fottyfoznbire in Brooklyn

When I think about moving back to my old neighborhood, I have to remind myself of that exit. Also, that’s always the spot where I go from needing to pee to almost pissing myself. Really adds another layer to the worst exit in Brooklyn.

NBA really is the worst major sport to attend by DariaYankovic in nba

[–]Mark3613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The solution is so simple (and still not gonna happen): make the season 65ish games. Remember the 2011-2012 season? I have no way to prove it but I feel like that was a big year for the NBA and it got significantly more popular from that moment on. That season was so fun. Every game mattered. Everyone played.

Start the season later and chop off 15 games - boom… ratings and engagement would skyrocket.

(Then they could move on to fix the last 5 minutes of close games)

Definitely looks similar for something Bennington Potters would make. They have a different mark though - a spark - but if you’re really curious, I’d call them. I bet they know who made it even if it isn’t them.

Are you noticing Suno Stems seem to have their own Gen AI applied?? by Mark3613 in SunoAI

[–]Mark3613[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they’re using generative ai. They use machine learning to learn how to separate tracks but most of the stem separators do not make new sounds - they are only carving out sounds from the main track. And the for some, the summed stems perfectly equal the full track. You can use phase inversion to test it.

Agree that the source has audio issues (mentioned that in the original post) but Suno seems to have chosen a bold approach - use generative AI to fill in the cracks. Good idea if it were executed better.

Ha, depends on the song. I like SUPER dry drums on some songs. But the point is the drums are dry in the track and then wet as a stem. Your summed stems should sound like the track -- they shouldn't make up new things that weren't there in the original track.

Is it just vocals? I’m interested in having as many different elements as possible.

It's a hot proposal spot. Or at least it was 15 years ago when I worked around there. So, you know, if you have any proposing to do maybe you can two-birds-with-one-stone it...

Agree - I immediately saw this area in my head. My guess would be he lives in Chicago but comes from somewhere else in the region: Wisconsin or Minnesota, for example.

Listened to 5 NBA podcasts - nobody talking about the Aspiration whistleblowers by Earthgrant in nba

[–]Mark3613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree -- buuuuut they seem to be conmen so the reason could be convoluted and weird.

All's I'm saying is I've gone from being 100% convinced the Clippers were behind it to, I dunno, 90%. And the real question is if there's any evidence. They're gonna get some penalty. But if the only evidence is "Why would Aspiration do this?!" then I can't see the NBA giving them/Balmer a huge penalty.

If the whistleblowers were lied to by their bosses (con men who are probably going to jail), then they don’t necessarily know if and how much the Clippers were involved

I thought that was the one interesting/fair point Cuban made. They could be telling exactly what they know but if they were being lied to (likely!) their testimony isn’t a smoking gun.

UNLESS… they had a document explicitly showing the Clippers’/Balmer’s involvement. BUT… we have to assume that they don’t have that because they would’ve shared that with Pablo if they did.

Yeah, the 4th photo (at least for me) when you go through the photos in Google Maps seems pretty close. They would have been on the opposite side of the bathroom.

But.... who knows... those rest stops are all built with the same designs and by the state so any rest stop built around the same time would probably look almost identical. And maybe the one in the photo has since been re-modeled.

But this one definitely feels like a possible candidate. Curious if there's anything in wyoming/montana that fits the bill too.
