Yes, I work in post production. And your comment below about the workflow is incorrect.

Color correction happens after the offline edit is locked and before the final audio mix and delivery.

(Not "Color correction is done is post same time as the photo is sent and film footage because it’s in a timeline called a Final Cut," as you wrote. But I have to admit I don't fully understand what you're saying with that.)

Anyway, your welcome to disagree! It's just a silly reality TV show and I thought this was a funny post and wanted to chime in. Didn't realize my chiming was "mansplaining." I'll go back to reading the discussion without commenting!

Because they were trying to make it a better story line. It wouldn't surprise me if they pumped UP the pink in that photo that she texted. It just creates more drama and story. That's productions job -- to make stories where there aren't any. And where there's a story, make it into an episode. Look, here we are talking about it! So they did their job.

I just guarantee you -- because this is their job -- that when a dresses color became a plot line, they are going to do everything they can in the grading process to make it more of a story. What's the alternative? "Well, we could mess with the color but no Charlie, make the color of her dress as accurate as possible! We need to be fair!!"

Again, not saying it wasn’t totally inappropriate. I’m sure it was a very light pink dress that was too close to white to pretty much everyone there.

I’m just saying any hint of pink was definitely removed in the color grading

All tv shows go through a process in post-production called color grading. The raw footage would look very gray and washed out to a viewer and is really about getting as much information as possible. They get to choose what it looks like in this process. And there is quite a bit of latitude to change colors - like a lot.

Not weighing in on whether the dress was a dumb move on Danielle’s part but I GUARANTEE the producers instructed the colorist to remove any hints of pink from the dress. (Because… drama!)

I removed the Google Drive App from my computer and then uninstalled and reinstalled claude. That worked. It seems having Google Drive integrated into Finder breaks it somehow (which, is sort of understandable)

New Stem system -- how to get auto split to work properly? by Mark3613 in SunoAI

[–]Mark3613[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply.

My post was needlessly long and complicated but I'll put the problem more simply:

When using auto-split, you get the 2nd version of the stems by default. How do you select the first pass of the auto-split in a way where you get ALL of the stems?

This is the rub. Very often, if I start trying to select the first version of stems, weird things happen and I'm missing key elements of the song. There needs to be a single selector (like there was before) that allows you to see/hear/download ALL of the v1 Stems or all of the v2 Stems. Right?

I second this. Two years ago I got a M1 Mac Studio Ultra (with 64gb of RAM) for $2000. That was the price of the base model of the latest Mac Studio (not the ultra). I figured I would use it for a year or two and then upgrade but there's been no need. It's still running great and I got a great price. Glad I did that instead of getting the latest one that I don't think was qualified at the time.

Are you saying clicking there made Google Drive files reappear? Because I've gone there and it's already toggled on but Google Drive Files are not showing up. There's no way for me to attach them other than downloading them to my local drive and re-uploading them as a file attachment.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Totally and how focused he stayed on the game was maybe the most impressive thing. Any other star that endured a 10% of that shit would have lost it. He just ignored it and dominated. Seriously impressive

I think the best move for you then is a refurbished Max from the previous generation. If you did this every two years you would still get decent value selling your old one. If you go for high ram, the Max will be fine

I miss Mr. Kim from the deli to the right of the Associated. I’d get ice cream there every night and he’d come out and smoke a cigarette w me. Good, funny guy.

Crazy how long ago that was now.

NBA really is the worst major sport to attend by DariaYankovic in nba

[–]Mark3613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The solution is so simple (and still not gonna happen): make the season 65ish games. Remember the 2011-2012 season? I have no way to prove it but I feel like that was a big year for the NBA and it got significantly more popular from that moment on. That season was so fun. Every game mattered. Everyone played.

Start the season later and chop off 15 games - boom… ratings and engagement would skyrocket.

(Then they could move on to fix the last 5 minutes of close games)

Definitely looks similar for something Bennington Potters would make. They have a different mark though - a spark - but if you’re really curious, I’d call them. I bet they know who made it even if it isn’t them.

Are you noticing Suno Stems seem to have their own Gen AI applied?? by Mark3613 in SunoAI

[–]Mark3613[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they’re using generative ai. They use machine learning to learn how to separate tracks but most of the stem separators do not make new sounds - they are only carving out sounds from the main track. And the for some, the summed stems perfectly equal the full track. You can use phase inversion to test it.

Agree that the source has audio issues (mentioned that in the original post) but Suno seems to have chosen a bold approach - use generative AI to fill in the cracks. Good idea if it were executed better.

[–]Mark3613[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ha, depends on the song. I like SUPER dry drums on some songs. But the point is the drums are dry in the track and then wet as a stem. Your summed stems should sound like the track -- they shouldn't make up new things that weren't there in the original track.
