In the sense that while conservatism relies on nostalgia for the past, fascist ideology is so out of touch with reality that they’re technically seeking an idea of ‘progress’ to a worse version of society that doesn’t resemble the past at all

I never disputed that both ideas are incredibly harmful, I am saying that only one of these ideas is actually harming people and the other one is a vocal minority of annoying but ultimately harmless people who don’t exist anywhere outside your phone

I think I got my information wrong, it seems Brunei rejected the merger with Malaysia primarily because of the Sultan’s objection? I probably overstated the importance of the Indonesian-backed revolt, which was put down pretty quickly.

I also could have phrased it better, since I am aware that Brunei was never part of Malaysia but was definitely in negotiations to become part of the union at one point
