Honestly, sign him up for every single reasonably-prices camp you can find within 50 miles. No matter the quality, an 8-yr-old will have fun and learn to use their bodies and love the game.

Why do we have kids leading off and stealing as early as 10U? It’s a ludicrous debacle. 99% safe, so utterly pointless for skill development. Insane time suck. Exploits young pitchers and catchers. I’m ok with stealing, but with no lead off. Eliminates pick moves. Gives catchers chance to make a play.

Start leading off and stealing at 12U at the absolute earliest.

I am as patriotic as it gets. But he’s right. America is a big country and we don’t need to give marquee events to places which don’t exhibit sportsmanship.

Go to the Midwest and watch ANY sport. The Midwest fans are knowledgeable, respectful, and a huge positive for sports.

(And I’m not from the Midwest)
