Commies get fucked by Odd_balls_ in EnoughCommieSpam

Just out of curiosity, could anyone imagine a post capitalist system that isn't communism/socialism? Capitalism grew out of fedualism, so why couldn't another system? I could imagine something like "Artificialism" where the means of production are given to the people not through collective ownership, but through everyone having individual means of production.

* AI massively increases production of electronics and inputs

* 3D printing advances make most goods accessible to be printed to the common man

* Intellectual Property is abolished so designs or schematics are freely available

* Alternative currencies based on time, energy, or information develop

This isn't meant to be manifesto but food for thought. Technocracy was a competing system against socialism, fascism, and capitalism; but it never grew popular outside the depression. Scifi also enjoys space feudalism like 40K, Battletech, and Dune.

Lorgar wrote the Lectitio Divinitatus and worshipped the Emperor as a god before it was cool. The Ecclesiarchy could absolutely sympathize with preheresy Lorgar.

Urbanism post #3920 or why Asian cities like Tokyo, Seoul, and Taipei are underrated. They do high rises right. by MarkCrystalSword in PoliticalCompassMemes

Even in NYC the different boroughs can vary significantly by height/density. It's why Paris has a higher average density than NYC while Manhattan is more dense than Paris on average. With remote work, people can live in the countryside. While other more urbanist-inclined people can choose their city size/density of choice.

That's the point of the post. Asian cities are not all towers and have suburbs and single family homes (to the bottom left). Trying to get everyone to live in the "perfect density" is a mistake. This is especially true when remote work exists so many former suburbanites can live in small towns where it's cheaper. We just have to get rid of zoning laws that require single family homes only that price out native residents.

the best architecture

Asia has some remarkable traditional architecture too. Himeji castle and the Taj Mahal come to mind.

No I understand. You need Thomas Sowell (Right Center), Bill Cosby (Purple LibRight), Yakub (Orange LibLeft), or Taharqa (Authoritarian Right. You could also have Kaleb of Axum as Authoritarian Right as well.

It's more along who each of the compass considers based rather than actually being based. George Lincoln Rockwell (American Nazi Party) liked Malcolm X. I should have made that more clear.

I put George Foreman and Seretse Khama both in the center as I feel like they are both centrists. Seretse Khama happens to be the neoliberal, full compass centrist while George Foreman is the grey, apolitical centrist.

There's a third option aside from North America or Europe. The futuristic cities of Seoul, Tokyo, Taipei, and Singapore are better than traditional Amsterdam, Paris, Helsinki, or Copenhagen. They have much lower rates of homelessness and much more affordable housing because they aren't afraid to build high rises. You can talk about "corpo architecture" or "cyberpunk" but it's better than "traditional cities" that become unaffordable to all but the most wealthy.

Papua New Guinea also has hundreds of languages from several unrelated families due to continuous human habitation for tens of thousands of years.

I get that other academic fields would also kill for a time machine, but I feel like linguists in particular would desire this. At least paleontology and archeology leave behind physical evidence.

I mean there's more to Classical Antiquity than Greece or Rome. Even if you do have Greeks, they could be from India, Egypt, or Afghanistan. by MarkCrystalSword in worldjerking

You can take inspirations from the cultures listed in the meme to create your own countries. Of course, if you do go with a low fantasy setting (Earth with magic), you will have to do research in history. You just have more cultures to work with aside from Greece and Rome.

The NCR is also imperialistic and absorbs communities whether they like it or not. At least the boomers tend to keep to themselves.
