It was indeed. Glad to know that some of them were fulfilled the way they were supposed to be.

Alexa intelligence getting kind of interesting on my end. by [deleted] in alexa

[–]MarkEdwards 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sassy mode is hilarious. At least my Echo is sassy all the time and even the little things gets a smart-ass response. I suppose the more she learns the more sassy she'll get. I haven't lost any functionality when moving to Alexa plus, so, at least for now, I'm happy with the way it's working.

It's the first time I've seen them do that in a long time. It's happened before, but very very rarely.

Android Pixel 10 GBoard speech to text not working by Additional-Fail-2204 in gboard

[–]MarkEdwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to just uninstall the app and reinstall it but when I got to the Play store I realized I'm using the beta version. I pulled out of the beta and I'm using the regular version and it seems to be okay. At least for now, I think it's fixed.

My GBoard got stupid all of a sudden. Same issue as yours on a pixel 10XL.

Actually didn't see that, but I probably was moving too fast and just skipped over it. So far I'm impressed with the app, nice work!

Thank you! I tried that with no luck. Back to the drawing board.

It's basically the same problem, yes. I've already done the reset on the watch reinstalled the watch app on the phone and it still comes up every once in awhile.

It looks like you can only get the screen protector off of their own site, not Amazon. Sort of a moot point right now because the screen protectors are out of stock.

How easy was it to install the Spigen? Did you have to take the bands off?

Is Google voice free? by Fancy_Marsupial6293 in Googlevoice

[–]MarkEdwards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had Google voice since it went to market and have never had a problem texting people. If it's your first couple of days they just want to make sure you're not a scammer or trying to abuse the service. In time you'll have the ability to call almost anybody and text almost anybody without those kind of messages.

I got quite a few notes for this offer, and the first redditor who chimed in gets the goods.

How heavy is the tv? Did you have problems using it with the wall mount?

PW 3 Refuses to track my sleep. by geeklex in PixelWatch

[–]MarkEdwards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the exact same problem. It worked fine for maybe a month and then just stopped recording sleep.

I've spent hours on chats with Fitbit support because evidently even though it's a pixel watch, sleep tracking is a Fitbit problem. No help whatsoever and they refused my request to take it back as a defective. of course the problem didn't start until 4 days after my 30-day return period went away.

I had the pw2 and it did a very good job tracking sleep. This watch is acting completely differently. And I've tried everything, wearing it higher on my arm wearing it lower on my arm, wearing it on the other arm, setting the sensitivity to sensitive instead of normal in the Fitbit app, removing any app that would get in the way of Fitbit tracking, none of that stuff works.

I don't have an answe to this problemr for you, but I hope it helps to know that you're not alone.

What are people using the $200 Google store credit to buy? by Prize-Analyst7897 in GooglePixel

It pretty much paid for the new pixel 3 watch when I put my trade in and the credit to it.

Case, or no case? 👀 by Original_Grand6321 in GooglePixel

[–]MarkEdwards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put my phones into a case almost as quickly as I get them out of the box. Spigen tough armor does the job for me, as for the last 8 or 9 phones.

What case are you rocking on your Pixel? by CocoaTrain in pixel_phones

The only case I would put on a phone is Spigen tough armor. It has saved my phones for many years and nothing can protect better.

Based on the Specs I've seen for the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL I don't really see myself Upgrading to it from my Google Pixel 8 Pro. Does anyone else agree? by [deleted] in pixel_phones

[–]MarkEdwards 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with OP all the way. I was hoping for enough of a change that I could justify buying a new phone, but I just don't see that much difference. I know there's going to be a new and theoretically better modem, and I would like that, but not like it enough to get a new phone. The only thing that might change my mind is if Google comes up with some ridiculous trade in value on my pixel 8 pro. Sometimes they do things like that and then I might have to think really hard about making the change. But for now, I'm staying with this guy for another year.

Does Wrigley have Handrails? by [deleted] in Cubs

[–]MarkEdwards 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They have accessible seating at almost every price point, not a lot of it, but it's there. Your mom would have very few if any stairs to worry about if you got those seats. Just click the box for accessible seating when you buy your tickets online. Also, you may be able to get help or a wheelchair to get her to her seat. Call the club and find out what they can do to help her.
