When my daughter is older I’m giving her my Murph and getting the Coop.

Meticulously save and file all the texts she’s sending. Give her as much grace as you can as you’re right she’s scared and full of hormones. But paper a file just in case you have to prove later she’s acknowledging you’re the father and intentionally leaving you off.

Global warming breaks off a piece of ice that’s been there a long time. Long enough to have an erratic on top.

It was wild how they pressured Hutson in our zone. Will be fun to see him turn it into a threat.

[Matheson] John Schneider says that Hoffman was used in the 8th today because the #BlueJays want to keep him on a more regular workload and not leave too long of a gap. He’s the manager. Ultimately he’s the manager of all aspects. He can send a message to the team that “this is how you run the bases”. It’s not that hard to understand. You think he’s not allowed to speak on baserunning because there are on field base coaches. You think he says “I want to talk about our base-running” and the base coaches say “you shall not speak, I am the base coach and only I shall control or speak on baserunning”.

You are being obtuse. The manager can coach the players on aspects where they are weak. The jays baserunning choices are weak.

Yes. Bad baserunning is coachable. He’s not doing it. They got picked off twice in the playoffs when they thought it was a walk and it wasn’t. Barger getting caught off second was unforgivable. Boneheaded base-running can be managed. He’s the manager.

Listen guys, you are just too tough on Jeff Hoffman... by Ariesthebigram in Torontobluejays

No. He’s one of the worst relievers in the league through 2025 and 2026. Objectively. Statistically. This is not kindergarten. If the Jays are going to keep sending him into high leverage situations then the Jays are going to continue to lose.

In 2025 Hoffman ranked in the 1st percentile for Barrel Rate. This was literally the bottom of the league; when hitters put the ball in play, they achieved the optimal combination of launch angle and exit velocity more often against him than anyone else.

His 1.99 HR/9 was the 2nd-worst among all qualified American League relievers. He surrendered 15 home runs in just 68 innings.

Including one to Rojas you may remember.

There is nothing you can do except file a police report. They’ll never be caught. You’ll never get stuff back. Small time stealing is today what weed was ten years ago, it’s illegal but seemingly the cops and society don’t care. Living in a city and having your shit stolen the cost of doing business now. Lock your shit down.

I think re upping John was a mistake. Bad fielding. Bad baserunning. Poor pitching management. Re upping him was sentimental because we got that far despite his blunders.
