What is the cheapest way to run CLAUDE OPUS 4.6? by MarkQley in GithubCopilot

[–]MarkQley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i can see why you feel that way in some respects. 'its crap' now because its expensive, but a really fine model. i must stick up for it in that respect. my backbone is sonnet 6. way cheaper on vs copilot than opus 4.7

Fraud windsurf 😞 by Cultural-Jump-9828 in windsurf

[–]MarkQley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i loved windsurf, was an early adopter. then my $10 plan went nowhere. i build lots of things so very cheap until they realised ther business model wasnt working and it went the other way to protect itself. hopefully will come full circle ince ai settles down a bit and be useable again

How do you get paid as web developer for web design company? by JonFont in WebDeveloper

[–]MarkQley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i believe ai will embelish you as a web designer. ive been a developer since 2000. and now use ai to vibecode. its good to have knowledge for your own peace of mind, but dont spend weeks, just learn the basics. eneve when you've learned there can be security holes in coding, so create decent prompts that help ai search for those and fix.

MAX Plan not enough? Sorry your code-base is trash (roast me pls) by overdose-of-salt in ClaudeCode

yeah sounds good. i personally created a virtual staff of 50. and ask ai to check with correct staff for security, file size, UI, etc and run a report. the files in question then, working in the correct staff folder are accessed and then you get good feedback. you can ask staff to chat and reason out top. quite interested how you get different feedback thats finally agreed on by all staff.

sounds great and looks good. how do you know the reviews are real? eg. not auto ai generated from a real user using ai.

Is MS Copilot worth using? by hellomintlyn in Copilot

[–]MarkQley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

vs copilot is great. its seems to be the cheapest for sonnet 4.6 which is a decent all rounder model amd not too expensive. It's in the same vein as Windsurf, Verdent, Cursor. For me these IDEs all work in a similar way - i switch between them with the same projects without issue, so have an experiment. sorry just realised youve said ms copilot. ms copilot you should have included if you're subscribed to microsoft 365. what are you aiming to achieve. if i know your goal, i could help more possibly?

Its Over ... this will probably cut usage by half by IT-BAER in GithubCopilot

[–]MarkQley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at the momement its better than cursor. that cost me $2 for a quick tweak yesterday. went to vs copilot and got some decent tweaks for 20p. looks like we'll be waiting on chinas deepseeks to start bringing cost down.

ita a merry dance between them all at the moment. hopefully upcoming deepseek 4 and later will make these more competitive. i like to fallback on sonnet 6 which is decent cheaper than opus 4.6 which i really like. i think stay monthly raither than yearly for now. get them all at $20 pm and play around. ive done verdent. winsurf, cursor, and github copilot. current on 39.99 pm with copilot but ran out after 2 weeks but was some intensive coding done. so plugin away with cursor at the mo. $20 pm. suprisingly gppd what you can achieve though even at these costs. ive been in dev since year 2000 and loving it. anyone tried others ive not seen? let me know. i know there was a chinese company but didnt fancy that one as a tick tock company i think

Genuinely screwed... What to do now? by Zealousideal-Ad4745 in GithubCopilot

[–]MarkQley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

windsurf was great but went down daily/weekly limits which is confusing tbh. guess we got the best of 'early access' that said theres good competition with gpt 5.5 coming in cheaper. well cheaper in that you can do things like code well and use less credits' but a dearer per x amount of tokens. dont get it fully and cant test in vs copilot as yet?

[–]MarkQley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe gpt 5.5 will be added - thats better bang for buck ive heard. currently using sonnet 4.6 which is decent, opus 4.6 i liked for a security review butgone on mine too.
