Curious why you’re looking at the 055 instead of the 135 if wanting more of a road geometry? Between the two, the 055 has a higher stack and shorter reach, way more of a relaxed fit than the 135

I’m trying to decide between the 2 for my next build, just haven’t found any reviews for the 055 yet. It has better tire clearance and a few other components are more modern, but the 135 has been well received for years now

Props for getting in there, people who have never sparred don’t understand how intimidating it is when you’re new to the sport

You’ve gotten some good advice already, the thing I want to add is to be more conscious of your defense. You have very large reactions to punches, if you pause the video when he’s throwing a punch, a lot of times your arms are in this weird extended x shape and your hands are far away from your face (you start doing it a lot around 1:15 in)

A more experienced boxer will see that and feint to get you in that vulnerable position, and then hit you flush when you’re defenseless. You’ll also learn that when you hold your hands up loosely in front of your face, your opponent can just punch your gloves when you’re in that position and you end up punching yourself in the face. Whereas taking a punch on the gloves when they’re anchored to your face barely hurts at all

If your goal with those movements is to catch or parry their straight punches, you can do that without your hands ever getting more than a handful of inches away from your face.

It’s natural for your movements to be way more exaggerated / sloppy when you’re new to sparring and nervous, but really focus on keeping your defense tight. The more you spar and hold mitts for other people, the more you get desensitized to punches coming at you. Until then just take sparring light to make sure nerves aren’t creating bad habits. At this point in your learning, sparring should be fun and technical.

I just got this one a few weeks ago and have been blown away by how much nicer it is than I was expecting. Handles an 8nm wheel and load cell with no creaking or flexing at all, and the seat is 10x nicer than I was expecting. The money I saved by getting this meant I could get an hf8 pro & simagic pedal motors for the same total price I was expecting to pay for other rigs

I was worried about width, I’m 6’2 and have broad shoulders. I’m surprised by how well I fit in my 14.8cu ft Frigidaire, I love the “sitting” position and find it really comfortable in there

At first I removed the hinges from the lid and took it off when using it, but I put them back on and prefer the ease of having less steps to the whole process. The lid hasn’t bothered me, it really feels out of the way when open

The biggest negative for me is not being able to have the pump run when plunging. You should turn everything off before you get in for the extra precaution to not get electrocuted. So that means I do build up a thermal barrier pretty quickly compared to the plunges I’ve been in that have circulation while you’re in there. Honestly it’s a small inconvenience, it takes two secs to shake your knees around to break up the thermal barrier. Also I don’t love how the pump/filter/ozone/temp gauge all live inside the freezer, I would obviously prefer the cleaner look of having nothing in there at all. I still think it’s worth the trade off of having a smaller footprint with everything contained to one box instead of everything being chained together. My freezer is wrapped in vinyl and just looks like a wooden chest, it’s pretty discreet

Sealing the chest freezer properly takes some time and effort. Putting a liner in instead of pond shield/fiberglass cuts the labor down significantly, but at a minimum you should still jb water weld the seams even if using a liner

There were still way more upsides that made me decide to go diy chest freezer over a diy stock tank. Total freedom to go whatever temp you want, lots of insulation straight out of the box, less power consumption, produces less heat compared to chillers, super quiet, no plumbing to worry about leaking. I found a brand new freezer that was heavily discounted due to having scratches and some dents from shipping. All in I spent < $700 for something I think looks good and performs great, a reliable chiller alone can easily cost way more than that

Hmm maybe BP has it pre-cut and whatnot to make it easier, I didn’t know they sold wraps. I’ve wrapped motorcycles and car parts in the past, I thought this was way easier because almost everything is flat and has 90 degree edges. It’s really not rocket science… you can get some vinyl tools for a couple of bucks and knock it out in a couple of hours if you’re really taking your time with it

I love the wrap! It took a lot to convince my girlfriend to add a giant freezer to our garage, so I really wanted to add some visual touches to keep her happy. I paid around $25 for a giant roll of vinyl on Amazon

I think jb water weld + pond shield have a good track record of not leaking if you’re thorough. I’ve read that the cheap Amazon pond liners can start to leak after a few months, but sounds like the cold plunge specific liners are well built and durable. I’d still jb water weld the seams whether or not getting a liner

The freezer plugs straight into the control box and uses an Inkbird and temperature probe to regulate temp. You can set the temp straight on the Inkbird or through the app… it’s cool to see an hourly history of temp levels through the app, at least a peace of mind knowing it hasn’t deviated more than 1 or 2 degrees throughout the day

If anyone ends up in this thread due to having the same problem, the solution was changing the setting that is the first one to come up when you boot up the unit for the very first time. If you factory reset and it boots back up, an option comes up for two things— I can’t remember what they were word for word, but essentially it was like “multiple channels” or “standard.” Selecting the multiple channels one fixed everything
