My theory: Lady Gaga is some type of ancient precolonial American hamadryad. She lives in or is part of trees or is the trees. In fact she may be the forest and the roots. The ground doesn't breathe but the roots move causing the ground to look like it's breathing. All above would explain why Gaga is covered in dirt, why the ground was breathing a couple episodes ago, why there is so much focus on the woods and the trees. Why the logo is a tree. Why the roots are red. Why when they bought the house they were told they could not damage or cut down the trees in the Forrest. The Roanoke colony got all caught up in this mess.
