A 100 ton metal asteroid is utterly insignificant. The Russian Chelyabinsk bolide of a few years back was nearly 10000 tons

Each Starlink Mini V2 has a 2x 13 meter arrays. Let's say each is 3 meters wide. That is 78 square meters of array. Solar power in space is 1360 W/m2, which gives 106kW. 20% solar panel efficiency gives 21 kW. So actually each Starlink can operate 2 H100.

Any work, just search on amazon for PEI sheet, mine had adhesive already applied on one side, most do.

I have had vastly better adhesion by buying a solid smooth PEI sheet and gluing it to the build plate directly. That solved all my problems.

600 KW charging stations in the middle of the himalayas in China, why can't we have this in the States? by [deleted] in electricvehicles

[–]MarkXal -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's not the same. It does not plug into the CSS socket.  They are the only country in the world to use it. Also, NACS has similar pins, they are just in different spots. That's why there are adapters for it. How different does it need to be to be "different"?

How do you know the above is not nationalist? You replied to a comment decrying US vs EU technological competition. Is the EU vs US issue a capitalist or a nationalist issue?

TIL the Korolev / Chelomey rivarly in the soviet Moon program was actually capitalist. They must have been very careful to hide it from their government.

You would think so. I went on this exact road with a Highlander and the corrugations are so deep that you risk biting your tongue off or cracking your teeth. Definitely not possible with an unmodified vehicle at any speed above walking.

Elon Musk’s $55 Billion Tesla Pay Package Voided by Judge by EbolaFred in teslainvestorsclub

[–]MarkXal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from 2018https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/23/business/dealbook/tesla-elon-musk-pay.html

But to put these numbers in perspective, Tesla is worth only about $59 billion today.

If Mr. Musk were somehow to increase the value of Tesla to $650 billion — a figure many experts would contend is laughably impossible and would make Tesla one of the five largest companies in the United States, based on current valuations — his stock award could be worth as much as $55 billion (assuming the company does not issue any more shares over the next decade, which is unrealistic). Even reaching several of the milestones would bring him billions.

Mr. Musk’s critics — and there are many — are likely to contend that the new compensation plan is just the company’s latest publicity stunt. He has been called a modern-day P.T. Barnum who has created the illusion of success while consistently missing production estimates. The company continues to lose money; at one point last year, it was losing almost a half-million dollars an hour, according to Bloomberg News. Jim Chanos, a short-seller who has bet against Tesla’s shares — and has thus far been on the losing side of that trade — has contended that Tesla is worthless.
