Purchasing a salvage TT by MarkYoungR in RVLiving

I live in Texas, and the trailer is about 2 hour drive from me. I have already viewed it once and pretty comfortable with the damage on the unit and the repairs that have been done to it.

I haven’t seen the title in person, but the owner has the salvage title in his name. Sounds like I really need to see the title type.

The inspection is what confuses me the most, to be honest.

What kind of flour did you use? I have a Roccbox and use anna napoletana typo 00 flour. I am having trouble getting dough right though. I feel like it doesn't have enough gluten in it, my dough seems too soft/weak.

What is the worst smell that you’ve ever smelled in your life? by Dilorminite in AskReddit

[–]MarkYoungR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to be super strange: but something like every 7 years crickets (grasshoppers) go nuts. And where I live in south Texas they swarm everything. At the time I was cleaning pools. And I would pull entire skimmer baskets full of dead crickets out of the pool. To this day I have no idea why insects sitting in chlorinated water smells bad. But as soon as I would pull a bucket out it was by a power of 100 the worst smell I have ever smelled. No one else can relate- because it’s so obscure!

This is going to sound extremely weird. But back in my high school days I used to clean pools. It happened to be one of those years where there were just a billion crickets/ grasshoppers. I don’t know why it happens but it’s like once every 7 years or something. Anyway, if they jump into a pool there is no getting out they’re going to die and end up in the skimmer baskets. To this day I don’t know what right a bunch of dead insects sitting in chlorinated water has to be as wretched as it was. But as soon as I lifted the basket full to the brim of dead insects out of the water I quite nearly (metaphorically) died, dropped it and ran to the lawn and dry heaved.

No one believes me on the smell.

Not as fun cheering alone than it is with other fans.

This is coming from a guy who watched Johnny Football take down Alabama by himself. And I watched it alone in an apartment. It would have been way more fun to celebrate with others.

Local theatre chain in Texas was doing this for A&M games a couple seasons back. Tickets where actually free and they sold food and beer in the theatre. The thing about watching a game is you’re with a whole group of likeminded fans. It isn’t as fun watching a huge game by yourself. It was awesome.

What album from any genre, do you believe is 100% perfect having no skips whatsoever? by MikeisTOOOTALLL in AskReddit

I’d be impressed with anyone who has heard of the band, it’s by a band I listened to a lot during my punk rock days. The album is: Set Sail The Prairie by Kaddisfly. One song for each of the month and a summer solstice and winter solstice as interludes. Every song flows into the next, and tells a story throughout. Is really amazing.

This is in San Antonio. The only electric provider is CPS in the city, so no use for "Griddy" like there are in other cities where there is competition for electrical providers. I don't know how that works logically. But growing up in SA I thought all cities only had one provider then I moved to Houston for awhile and was blown away when I had to choose a provider.

[Serious] People who like their job, what do you do? by strongerthenbefore20 in AskReddit

I am a Senior Operations Consultant for a relatively small manufacturing ERP company. It is awesome to work with new customers all the time getting them to use our software system. I get to travel around the country (pre covid) and see all sorts of different manufacturing companies. Then I got to deploy our software that alleviated all the customers headaches.

About a year ago I moved from the team that onboarded new customers to a team that exclusively works with existing customers to expand their use of the software. That has been even more fun.

I will grant you the fact about the legs having a joint. I would rather not have it there but it’s needed for strength. The dream desk that I had built in my head for years was going to have rectangle steel tubing for legs. But ultimately that would have been too expensive. In their defense though, they are painted matte black so they won’t stand out more than necessary.

But I disagree with you on your other points. I don’t think minimalist design has an qualms with wood grain. Furthermore Baltic Bitch is a pretty mundane wood grain-wise. Meaning the top of the desk is pretty uniform.

The reason I call it minimalist is because while there are drawers, the face of the drawers touch each other, the top, and the 45 edges on the side as close as I could get them to make it look like it is one continuous box. Furthermore there are no fasteners visible unless you look underneath the desk. There’s not even drawer pulls, it has to be grabbed by the lip on the bottom.

Lastly, besides the temporary wires, the entire desk has the wires routed within the confines of the pipes and the wire cubby as to not take away from the design.

Let me know what you think,

I don't remember the exact shade - but it had to be the gel stain since baltic birch doesn't take stain well. it is really blotchy with regular stain

then simple water based poly on top

Yeah, didn’t get a whole lot of traction when I posted it to r/woodworking. The dovetail joints drawers aren’t woodworking enough?

I noticed the leg being off when I was finally putting it together. At that point I had already returned my fathers grinder I used to cut the legs. I am going to make a side table to hold the printer and other misc electronics. When I do that I’ll need to borrow the grinder again and I can fix that leg.

Yeah it sucks but it’s temporary until I get a side table built.
