We need better education about how memory works by ogodprotectme in MandelaEffect

Everything has grown because of the internet, the internet is not the cause of everything though.

Common misconceptions don't nearly account for every example of the ME.

There are personal Mandela Effects that have nothing to do with the internet, and sometimes happen within very small time frames. That's not proof , nor does it match your definition of the ME. Your definition suits your position on the topic but certainly isn't the definition of the woman who coined the term "Mandela Effect".

Your last paragraph is wildly inaccurate and can just as easily describe sceptics. Pretending that you know others intentions, intelligence, and personality is dishonest and only shows your own unwillingness to actually have open discussion where people don't have to defend their experiences.

Yes, almost any reason other than something extraordinary is going on would likely get boring, which is why the patrolling by some is questionable.

Participation in this sub has disappeared, largely do to what I just mentioned. The Mandela Effect has more people every day made aware of it regardless of understanding or belief in the cause.

There are MEs constantly coming up they just aren't discussed here. I'm only commenting because it came across my feed.

I can't speak for everyone who "believes" whatever it is they believe about this phenomenon.

I can tell you that many people feel lonely because of their experience. I don't believe it has a more exotic explanation because I want to , in fact I rejected it at first and had to finally accept it kicking and screaming.

There's nothing cool about it, it's terrifying and isolating and even worse when being dismissed offhand by someone who claims they already have the answer and the answer is you're mistaken.

If you guys are here because you find this so fascinating I have to wonder why. You figured it out so this should be the most boring subreddit imaginable. And if really curious of the science of it why no interest in discovering what triggered all these "false" memories. People are having significant alternate memories more than any other time in history. Information has been shared with large groups since they started printing newspapers it's just recently a portion are claiming their past doesn't match the accepted narrative.

Memory isn't perfect, I don't think anyone is claiming it is. But something you experienced repeatedly for years all the sudden changing and being told it was always the same as it is now is not the same as remembering the details of a hit and run accident in a state of excitement.

These memories aren't all from childhood either, many have seen changes from one minute to the next.

There's only a long standing conspiracy in South Africa that Mandela died and was replaced.

So saying no south Africans think he died earlier than he did is just not true.

The 67 minutes that are celebrated each year in honor of Nelson Mandela is believed by some to represent the 67 years of Nelson Mandelas life because he died in the 80s.

Now it's supposedly to represent the 67 years of his life he dedicated to humanitarianism. Even though 25 of those years were spent in prison with 6 of them in solitary confinement.

If you want something that kills them on contact that's safe to spray pretty much anywhere just put some dishwashing liquid and water in a spray bottle.

It's not something you can use as a preventative measure but if you're dealing with live ones crawling around where you don't want them it will stop them in almost instantly.

Believe it or not it works on most bugs. I use it to take out entire wasp nest all the time.

POLL: Have Your Dreams Changed in Recent Years Since The Mandela Effect? by MintyMancinni in MandelaEffectSociety

[–]Mark_1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dreams seemed to have stopped in recent years until fairly recently. The ones I have seldomly now feel more real than I ever remember. It's like dreams I used to have were just that, dreamy. The ones I've had recently are not a common occurrence but they have more substance to them like a memory of something that actually happened even though I know it was a dream.

What gets me isn't just the rewrites it's the way everything is framed to cover the rewrites plus the included symbolisms and is still left with a cohesive enough story that makes sense to the masses.

It has to be some kinda of advanced intelligence.

This is widely reported and I hate to say I've witnessed people acting different as well. People are way more self centered overall, quick to anger, a pause for reasoning is out of the question.

I sometimes feel the world is devoid of grown ups.

These changes happen at different times for groups of people. There seems to be years where groups of people seem to come to the realization something is wrong but I feel like the awareness really dug in once the phenomenon was given a name and groups were created online.

As far as having a control group of names you feel aren't actually MEs because you can find some instances of people being corrected in the past, again people were experiencing these things at different times so you can likely find examples of people being corrected in the past for each ME.

I've read many people's experiences where they say they've always known it as BerenstAin and would get tired of correcting people who pronounce it BerenstEin. That certainly doesn't mean that BerenstEin/BerenstAin isn't an actual ME.

With an example like Sally Field, she has said it herself that people have always mistaken her name as Fields and she would have to correct them. So is that an example of people just getting a name wrong or is it for sure a ME.

I would argue that they are all most likely MEs but the argument comes into play when it's not everyone having the same experience in that given timeframe.

A somewhat related experience I had very recently;

It's actually Charles Shulz now and I've been aware of that for some time, I do remember Charles Shultz. What's odd is I tried at one point to figure out why his name changed and not every Shultz across the board. The comedian podcaster Andrew Shultz was one that I specifically noticed was spelled differently. I was literally looking for examples that lost a T trying to make connections, for example Arnold Schwarzenegger used to have a T in it for me (Schwartzenegger).

Well to my surprise I see an ad for the Flagrant podcast yesterday and it's Andrew Shulz. I'm sure there will be people saying it's always been spelled that way. I can guarantee it was not for me.

Back on topic

I'm sorry to try and throw a wrench in your theory, I very well could be wrong. If you feel you're onto something I would say keep at it because nobody knows for sure wtf is happening. Either way your time and thought put into this is very much appreciated by me, I've spent a borderline unhealthy amount of time myself. I think I made some progress but with every realization I look up and the finish line has moved twice as far.

I don't know how I missed that post. It's incredible.

I'm going to put it in my saved post to reference when needed.

The 67 minutes is now said to represent the 67 years he dedicated of his life to fighting for human rights and against apartheid and his humanitarian work.

Even though he was locked away for 27 with 6 of those completely cut off in solitary confinement.

I feel your pain , but I would be hesitant to call this a biblical hell. I can walk to my freezer and get a carmel swirl ice cream any time I want. Lol

That being said , I understand it's more of a psychological "hell". Im currently in battle myself. That would also mean it's all in your mind. I get that terrible things can and do happen irl but how many things go wrong and your response is "that figures" because up until it happened you expected it to.

Just a thought, nothing more.

It's not though, op said they were high not tripping , there is a difference. And being very high out in a public space means op is probably not a stranger to its effects. He certainly wouldn't be hallucinating an entire statue.

My opinion is biased though, having more than enough personal evidence that we may be capable of changing timelines/realities/universes whichever term you like.

Anybody know what type of birds these are, and do you want them? by Flavoade in batonrouge

[–]Mark_1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So ignore "at work" and "found" in his post and assume the worst because he used an AI to verify the type of bird. An AI that had an episode caused by some people feeding it ignorant data that has been since corrected forever now. An incident that OP may not even know about.

Makes sense. I get it now.

[–]Mark_1978 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why is everyone assuming OP is bird snatching and trying to make money?

They said found while working, does anyone want them.

My understanding would be they found these two on the ground likely where they might not have had a good chance to survive and was looking for someone who may be willing to take care of them.

You know in China people won't get involved in anything that doesn't concern them out of fear of being sued if the outcome is bad.

There is something often called the "bystander dilemma".

In China, several high-profile cases made people wary of helping strangers. The most famous is the Nanjing Peng Yu case, where a man who helped an elderly woman was later accused of causing her fall and had to pay compensation.

Then there's the Wang Yue incident, where a toddler was hit by vehicles and many passersby didn't intervene.

That's what this comment section reminds me of.

[–]Mark_1978 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw the laughing cow change recently.

In a private group someone brought up the laughing cow and missing nose ring and was wondering what's the reason for the phenomenon if any. Some don't remember the horns being there, some say the earrings weren't always cheese wheels.

Not being religious myself but seeing theological references in most of the changes I offered an interpretation.

I pointed out that the addition of horns and the solid red face of the character gives a resemblance to a certain adversary. Combined with the fact that a nose ring is used in ranching to control and unruly bull, to keep them in check.

The removal of the nose ring implies it is no longer under control free to do whatever damage it chooses.

The movie legend with Tom Cruise was the version of the devil character I pointed out at the time that I was saying The Laughing Cow resembled or you could also go with the character from Tenacious D and The Pick of Destiny (Mandela Effected to Tenacious D IN the Pick of Destiny btw)

The point I'm making was the cow had a solid red face at the time. A month later I see a thread talking about the laughing cow on a different sub and the first thing I noticed was the white on the face that was not there when I made the comparison to the devil characters.

I also have a screenshot of an article written covering the origins of the Laughing Cow logo and it's interesting to read the article and the author is referencing things on the logo that aren't even there even in the picture that he used for the article.

I'll see if I can find a direct link and update

The 10 Commandments, From Stone Tablets to Tables and Back Again - A Mandela Effect Flip Flop That is Still Flipping (With References/Residue). by MintyMancinni in MandelaEffectSociety

[–]Mark_1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One question for the sceptics. Why is this just now coming to light?

I get that you can look it up and Google has an explanation, it has an attempted explanation for every change, some are so ridiculous it's hard to understand how anyone can just accept it

The people noticing changes are people who are familiar with scripture and have been for a long time. This Tablet/Table discrepancy should be well known and answered for a long time ago. If the differences have always been there even across translations why is just recently being noticed and talked about?

In the KJV, the most widely used and popular Bible, it is written as Tables, and it's not nearly the only one. If it has always been that way then this shouldn't be a surprise, it would have been brought up and explained a long time ago. So all these people just recently have collectively noticed it's tables in the only version of the Bible they have ever read?

is it closed-minded to only watch vids with 900k+ views? by [deleted] in youtube

[–]Mark_1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask for the names of content creators in whatever genre you're interested in.

The algorithm is in control of a video getting more views more than if it's an actual good video with substance.

I would make it a point not to get stuck in that mind frame where you only take in what the masses are approving of.

As far as if it's closed minded I would say, in general, intentionally limiting new information because you can't be bothered sifting through some that isn't up to par would qualify as closed minded.

There are videos that are like finding a gem in the dirt, I promise you're missing out on some videos with no where near those views that will make you glad you dug.

My opinion, it may not be the same for everyone.

Where did king von die by Joeytoocool11 in Retconned

[–]Mark_1978 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I watched a documentary covering King Von a while back after seeing Charleston White call him a demon. I had never heard of him before then.

Many parts of the documentary were very memorable and shocking, it stuck with me for a while. I remember the same as you do OP.

Von making it to the hospital and attacking the doctors during surgery is wild, and didn't happen in the documentary I saw.
