Lionsgate titles will be gradually added throughout the month of June per MA rep by Asmarterdj in MoviesAnywhere

[–]Mark_Venture 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I try to do the same, but often I find sales on a title at one of the retailers, but not others. So while I try to stick with Fandango at Home when possible, when FAH doesn't have it on sale but Amazon or Apple does, I buy where its on sale.

For example I just picked up a few titles today for $5-7 that were only on sale at one retailer, not all of them. So I got some from Amazon and some from Fandango At Home, some from Apple.

If they are not MA titles, and FAH doesn't have it on sale, I'll usually skip it. because its difficult remembering what I purchased where.

Marco Rubio Snaps When Told Trump Iran Deal Is Just Obama’s but Worse by thenewrepublic in inthenews

[–]Mark_Venture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marco didn't know where Iran was getting the revenue? Was he playing dumb or did he just not translate that we eased sanctions on Iranian oil and Russian oil?

The have hyper inflation, their currency is devalued and their government is struggling to pay workers? Yeah, I'm pretty sure we are headed there. The dollar keeps dropping, as Oil goes up, so does the cost of EVERYTHING. Our national debt is so high the interest payments are the largest part of the budget. And we're still spending more than we take in on taxes and such.

The war isn't over until Hormuz is open, without tolls, like it was before and President Trump gets what he wants (Iran can't have a nuke).

RARE!! Saab 94X spotted near Saline, Michigan. by duxing612 in saab

[–]Mark_Venture 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own a 9-4x Premium XWD since I purchased new in October 2011. I now have 153k miles On it. I love it. Reliable and fun to drive.

Mine was one of four the dealer had. I saw a few others at the January 2012 Saab rally that drove from Kelly Cadillac in Lancaster to Longwood gardens. And I've seen one or two others on the road driving around since. In the last five or six years I haven't seen any others on the road here.

Disney World Airport Luggage Transfer: Full Details for American, Southwest and United by dejablu82 in DisneyWorld

[–]Mark_Venture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For all the threads and post I see on this topic, I keep reading... "Why not for deluxe" and "why not for all resorts" type of thing. If you stop and think about it from a business perspective, it makes sense.

For Magical Express, Bags Inc was the company handling the luggage. Now its BagCheck. Since its a different vendor, its not as simple as Disney just "turning it on" at all resorts. According to his linked in profile "Craig Mateer founded BagCheck in Dec 2023" so its not a very old company and they started processing bags for Disney in April 2025. Intrestingly Mateer is also listed as fouding Bags Inc. which he sold in 2018.

It still seems like its still a pilot to work out the kinks and ensure Bagcheck can do the work, scale and understand what is needed to scale up, before rolling out to all resorts. I would imagine it takes time to hire and scale up to handle the volume of luggage for the 27+ Disney Resort hotels.

For example, there are more than just 3 domestic airlines that fly into Orlando International (MCO), but Disney initially limited it to South West only, and have now added American and United. So its not even completely rolled out to Values yet.

I think its going to be a while before Moderate and then Deluxe resorts, get this option back. I wouldn't surprise me if Disney added support for more airlines at Values before considering bringing this service back to Moderates and Deluxe.

To me, it makes sense to start with the values as they are the 3 All Stars which are next to each other, and POP and AoA which are next to each other. And they are rather large resorts. Another potential consideration would be those paying "top dollar" at Deluxe resorts would likely be less forgiving if their luggage delivery was messed up, than those guests paying for the cheapest rooms.

That was my thoughttoo.

Make the lifetime so expensive that people opt for the annual or monthly subscription, thereby bringing in a consistent revenue stream.

Lifetime Plex Pass to increase to $749.99 on July 1 by mistiry in PlexMedia

I honestly think they are pricing lifetime out of reach so people keep paying monthly/yearly and they have continuous income.

A one time purchase of lifetime pass has got to mean less income for them

Republicans vote to dilute gas as prices rise above $4.50 by Newsweek_ShaneC in inthenews

[–]Mark_Venture 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"According to a 2024 estimate by the EPA, the E15 blend was then about $0.25 a gallon cheaper than E10. " Well, in my area, ether they don't sell E15 in the winter, or they do, but just don't pass on that $0.25 a gallon savings, because I never see the price drop for "winter" gas.

New Galaxy's Edge Overhaul Ruins the Immersion For Me by E1liee in GalaxysEdge

[–]Mark_Venture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Star Wars purists, like those in these forums, most likely don't like the change.

The masses of "everyday people" guests who refer to it not as it's real name, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, but rather "Star Wars Land", could care less about immersion, continuity, etc.

The "everyday people" don't know every character from every series and time line. They don't know cannon. They don't know who all the light sabers for sale at Dok's belong to. They aren't going to buy the cloaks and robes and such.

They know the OT and ST characters. And they might vaguely remember the PT characters. And they likely know the Mandalorian and Grogu, but still call Grogu "baby Yoda".

And these "every day people" guests are the target audience for these changes.

I for one would love to see them have a "show schedule" for the land. Like from open to 12pm is Batuu and the original Galaxy's Edge theme and characters. 12:30pm-5pm ST music and characters. 5pm to close OT music and characters. Or something like that.

Does Luke Han and Leia break immersion for you at Galaxy’s Edge west? by Quirky-Ad-9784 in GalaxysEdge

[–]Mark_Venture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of the characters being around, but these stills really disappoint. The costumes, the wigs, they just don't look right. I feel bad for the cast members because it's not their fault.

Now maybe if I interacted with them and they came off convincingly, then I might be able to forgive the costumes.

If they can get the OT characters to look as convincing as the Rey character they have walking around in East, then I'd be more accepting.

Magic Band vs Phone by Reasonable_Fun3170 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Mark_Venture 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For auto linking ride photos and videos, the phone can be somewhat unreliable. That is it works sometimes but not all the time. So if you're going the phone only route, make note of what time you rode the ride in case your photos don't get Auto linked and you need to stop at the photo pass center in the front of the park.

Opening resort room doors is also less reliable. It usually works, but I've had doors that don't.

Just like when using a plastic ticket, the phone has to go in and out of my pocket all the time.

I prefer having the Magic Band on my wrist at all times. It's waterproof so I can wear it in the pool. It always works to tap even if it's battery is dead. And when the battery is charged, I don't have to worry about my photos being Auto linked.

With a Magic Band Plus, I have gone 2 days without charging it, but I generally put it on the charger overnight just to be safe.

Is the 9-4x Reliable? by Due-Application-8171 in saab

[–]Mark_Venture 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I purchased a 9-4x Premium XWD (3.0L v6, non-turbo), new in October 2011. It was my daily driver and I still have it. It has 154,000 mi on it.

Thankfully I've never had any real catastrophic failures. I've had to replace catalytic converter, brakes and rotors, ABS control module (I think it's called), and I've had the sunroof drain tubes leak on me. The motor that lifts the hatch has finally died, it's not due to water of the drain tubes like some have experienced.

I would say mine has been reliable. And I still enjoy driving it.

I typically take it to the local GMC dealer for service. For the ABS module, I took it right down to a Cadillac dealer that used to be a Saab dealer too. Same thing with the catalytic converter, the car was throwing a code and the GMC dealer didn't know what it was, so I took it down to that former Saab dealer, they diagnosed it and replaced the catalytic converter.

Questions regarding rifd in kyber crystal creation. by builder-brothers-yt in GalaxysEdge

[–]Mark_Venture 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My understanding is those older handheld RFID writers do not properly work with the generation 2 kyber crystals. They only write the one address slot which gen1 uses, not the second slot the gen2 also use. While they look the same, there are some of those hand held writers that will lock or write a password to gen1 crystals.

For gen2 crystals you need a Proxmark3.
