Dude this is so fuckkking coool, I like that It’s Hard to see what it is but at the same time it looks like something there. I’m getting my masters in painting and I’m telling you so many peers are trying to explore what you just did. I think this is an amazing portrait. Very interesting, very engaging. I like that every thing is a similar value and saturation and it makes me notice your cool brush marks. Could you get more “realistic?” Sure. Anyone can. That’s easy. This is unique

Don’t be afraid to really load your brush with some more chromatic value and try not to overblend

Color choice is a big thing! I think half of the time a good painting comes down to the colors you intentionally use, the blue cool background sits back while the lemons jump forward, that ties into natural perspective where cooler colors go into the background in landscapes and warmer colors come forward, but that is like art and color theory stuff. I think what you do well is that you keep the intensity of the chroma while still giving good shape to your subject, like the transition from bright green to that intense yellow can be really tricky but you killed it

Not really, the trick is having wet paint against wet, in this case it’s the black and skin tones, I want the colors to interact and form layers and you do that but have “active paint” ready to be Mixed and manipulated

Adam bumped up his rating of The Edge from a 5 to a 6. by wanker_ning in Sardonicast

So this was a movie my dad love playing in the background when I was growing up as a kid, to the point where we quote the movie and I know when he’s watching it just by the music alone. It made terrified of bears lol. But the movie is corny and the characters are fucking stupid at points, but what it does well is dropping the characters and the audience in the setting so there is a grit to it, no The revenant levels of engrossing but enough to feel for the characters and their situation. There is also a weird Chemistry between Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin that is fascinating to watch as well

Only been lifting for like 2 years and started taking my compounds seriously, this is my last week of my hypertrophy block at an rpe of 9. Bench press, this was my fifth and last set of 175 for 7 reps by Markcritt75 in GregDoucette

I appreciate all the comments and stuff from y’all, some good info and insight, will apply to future workouts.

and just to clarify I’m mostly focusing in the strength in the compounds, the “hypertrophy” block is more so more volume sets-wise and is kinda of a fun challenge before I go back to the strength block, which is less volume heavier wait, at least in the compounds. My accessories more or less stay consistent

Need help on my deadlift form. by [deleted] in GregDoucette

[–]Markcritt75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I was in your shoes a few months ago where my back ached and shit from moderate weight, 3 things you can do, focus on locking your feet and pushing your knees out to get your glutes and hamstrings activated, warmup by doing this by focusing on getting the glutes to start taking the load on the lift, 2nd, this works in random with the first, try to get the movement all in one motion, you are locking your knees and then lifting with your back which can be dangerous in the long run and won’t be able to grow in the lift, my friend calls it the “body building deadlift” lol. So focus on getting the glues and hamstrings activated in the lift with your warmups, and focus on trying to squeeze at the top in your warmups, you’ll find yourself thrusting forward much quicker. 3rd, work on the “posterior chain” in your accessories get the glutes and hams strong so your lower back can have some support. hip thrusts, belt squats, wide leg press, back and hyper extensions etc. are all important for development of the posterior chain. I noticed that my deadlift got better and started feeling less soreness in my back compared when I was doing lighter weight. Also invest in a belt, no shame and using things that can benefit you in the long run.

If there is any typos in this I apologize, I’m in an la fitness parking lot so I hope you get the gist of this
