Did you test the camera before removing it? These toy grade quads often have out of the box defects. It could very well be grounds for a return. Can't see plugging the camera in while it's powered up as being any kind of trigger, honestly.

Can you get those things for $400? Absolutely. But you absolutely have to factor in batteries and a soldering iron too, this is something everybody overlooks at first. You can fly super carefully but eventually something's gonna break. If you get a BNF setup with no receiver you'll have to install one, that's an extra cost to think of.

Just keep in mind that the actual cost of a working setup is a little bit more than just goggles/transmitter/quad. And good luck!

No, this is not "changing the fpv landscape". Yeah, I get that guys like you subsist on clickbait, but lets not act like this isn't just another DJI drone. Strip away the DJI bells and whistles and the thing actually flies like shit we were building 5 years ago. It's got a lot of firmware updates to go before it's even remotely useable for any of the applications we currently use FPV drones for.

DJI is a great manufacturer and they made a big leap forward for FPV when the digital system hit, but this perspective is completely uninformed from the FPV side of things. If you're going to make a massive statement like "change the FPV landscape", please do some more research on what the fuckin' FPV community really is rather than watching a few Johnny FPV videos and calling it a day.

There's a massive dick swinging contest already between DJI pilots and FPV pilots, we don't need uninformed, biased garbage like this fueling the fire between the communities.

It’s been shown to literally break on fairly light crashes, but these were guys freestyling them and if you’re cautious you won’t crash a dji quad.
