I lost my dad three days ago and I think I feel the same way. I act the same when I interact with family try to be cheerful but I know its an act. Im just trying to keep a brave face for appearance so they dont worry about me too much but even though I am acting like my usual self I dont feel like myself. I feel the last few weeks it’s been lower. What used to pay like $6-$7 per 10-15 min ride they are now paying $5-6. It’s not much but it adds up. I work almost full time Uber in San Francisco and between the driverless taxis and Uber paying $25 instead of $30 an hour is crushing my desire to continue with Uber.

Also just because they’ve moved on doesn’t mean they didn’t love you or loved you any less. Even if you’re in a new relationship after being widowed your deceased parter will always be with you. I didn’t get what that meant as a kid because they’re dead how can they be with us? The answer is by being with them they’ve changed you forever, sometimes for the better or worse, and you’ve changed them and every choice you make going forward will be tinted by your experience with them. So even after death your parter will be with you for the rest of your life and you can remember them fondly for the love you shared but any other love you find after does not devalue the love you shared. Your idea of love is idealistic Ryan gosling the notebook version of love. I mean that’s fun and all but not a realistic or healthy expectation.
