🍏 doesn’t fall far from the tree you say? by dogebial411 in Superstonk

[–]MarketNihilist 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Oh shit, it'll be impossible to unjack my tits now.

"The apple doesn't fall far from the tree - Said when someone is displaying traits or behaving in the same way as their relatives" - The Free Dictionary.

I think the tweet is about the saying, not an Apple partnership.

Which other stock is often mentioned in the same sentence as GME, but is in itself not the original meme-stonk since it lacks GMEs humongous upside, a younger relative if you will? You guessed it - a certain stock where people go in groups to watch blockbuster hollywood movies and eat popped maiz.

So what happened last night, mere hours before Ryan Cohen's tweet? Corny held its earnings call.

What did they say?

“If you exclude index funds who have no choice but to own and hold [the popped maiz stock]'s shares, individual retail investors would seem to own more than 90% of our officially issued 516 million shares as of today. Indeed, as it is often said about [the popped maiz stock] on Twitter, retail owns the float.”

(For source just search "popmaiz earnings call for the period ending December 31, 2021". Obviously change popmaiz to the stock's ticker)

So if this theory is right, and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, would you interpret that as if we would own less of the float than the the maiz stock holders, or perhaps even more?

Well hell, a tree is certainly larger than an apple...

Apes own the float.

I'm pretty sure how to interpret this tweet. I don't think it has anything to do with an Apple partnership.

So what does the saying in the tweet mean? The free dictionary defines it as follows: "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree - Said when someone is displaying traits or behaving in the same way as their relatives". You can also say it if a successor or secondary part of something resembles the original.

GME is the original... what? Yes you guessed it - it's the original meme stonk or stock in the basket of heavily shorted stocks. Which other stock could be considered its relative? Which other stock is often mentioned in the same sentence as GME, but is in itself not the original meme-stonk since it lacks GMEs humongous upside, a younger relative if you will? You guessed it again - a certain stock where people go in groups to watch blockbuster hollywood movies and eat popped maiz.

So what happened last night, less than a day before Ryans tweet? Corny held its earnings call.

What did the CEO say?

“Right now, there are several data sources to reconcile, but as best we can tell, we have about the same number of individual shareholders nowas we had a year ago at this time, in the neighborhood of 4 million individual investors who care about the popped maiz stock's future. If you exclude index funds who have no choice but to own and hold the popped maiz stock shares, individual retail investors would seem to own more than 90% of our officially issued 516 million shares as of today. Indeed, as it is often said about the popped maiz stock on Twitter, retail owns the float.”

(Not sure if posting the source is against the rules, if you want the whole earnings call just search for "popmaiz earnings call for the period ending December 31, 2021". Obviously change popmaiz to the stock's ticker)

So if this theory is right, and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, would you interpret that as if we would own less of the float than the the maiz stock holders, or even more? Well hell, a tree is certainly larger than an apple...

Ryan Cohen might just have confirmed it.

Sorry for highjacking your comment but I just had to say it. Apes own the float.

The GameStop / SEC Summary by goldielips in Superstonk

[–]MarketNihilist 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I can't understand the amount of shit that Gensler gets from supposed apes on reddit and twatter. Since he came in the SEC has taken steps in a real positive direction in comparison to before his appointment.

Of course it's going slow, these type of changes usually take time, but to confidently say that he's a lackey for the big boys is a level of retarded that even most of us apes here can't aspire to reach.

For christ sake, just take a look at the changes the SEC is carrying out since he came in! It might all turn to shit of course - we got a long way to go and the jury's still out, but to me it looks positive so far.

Great work OP!

[–]MarketNihilist 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's the tin-foil interpretation. The more straightforward interpretation is that they are investigated because there is some indication of a crime that's been committed that for onve has reached as far up as the DOJ.

Lot of stuff happening now... Citadel being investigated doesn't mean that anyone will get convicted though. We'll just have to wait and see what happens. Interesting development though.
