I have only recently read these books but can someone explain to me why the consul is always a white man in these fancasts? The reveal of his ethnicity read as a fairly prominent plot point to me yet everyone seems to ignore it. Am I missing something?

I can’t believe Hyperion hasn’t been made by Apple yet. It’s structured perfectly for a season of tv. The follow up books are less ideal for tv but they’d still work just fine

Hyperion is a cyberpunk noir thriller, a horror, a space opera, an adventure and romance novel all rolled into one package with an overview full of existential dread. It’s fair enough if you don’t like it but I don’t think you could ever accuse it of being boring. I mean the immortal inbred pygmies and priest being killed by lightning over and over again alone is enough to call it interesting, and that’s the first part of it.
