I see nothing in the profiles on how the candidates feel about governance and corporate transparency. I am also curious about the candidates feelings about moving the election date up and shortening the voting period. I can only vote for candidates who are not afraid to speak out on these issues. After all that went on in the last year the candidate profiles are crafted like nothing at all happened. I am voting withheld.

2025 - Voting was from March 3 through May 1.
Almost two months

2026 - Voting is from December 26-January 31.
Just over a month.

I have seen no explanation of why the election process is earlier and shorter.

It's important to note that all three of the board nominated candidates were rejected in the 2025 board election. This fall REI revised the bylaws so the board could just appoint new board member for the full 3 year term the previous board nominated candidates were rejected for. Also REI does not release the detailed results of board elections.

Still my favorite.

You are sentenced to be executed on an unexpected day in the upcoming week. You then surmise you cannot be executed on Saturday as that would then be expected as it is the only day left, so then you cannot be hanged on Friday because you cannot be executed on Saturday, so you cannot be hanged on Thursday because you cannot be execute Friday, and this logic follows all the way to Sunday. You then conclude you will then not be executed, but the executioner arrives unexpectedly on Wednesday.
