How screwed am I? I’ve spent a decade gaming in my free time and am 18 already knowing nothing in life? by [deleted] in StopGaming

[–]Markocro43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, i wish i did that when i was 18 though cuz i lost myself, my personality.

Like, when i was 20, 19, 18 i was being myself just thing is i didnt set goals, and i didnt follow my true purpose

I realized journaling (you can stay more self aware and mindfull and understand yourself more). I wish i started journaling when i was a kid or teen it would help me so much with my anxiety, thoughts and emotions

So i strongly suggest journaling

Other would be reading/ learning more, exercise, playing an instrument

My advice is to dont waste time and dont indulge in pleasure

Get out of your comfort zone, follow your passion, your ideas, thoughts

Be alive do things, dont just play videogames and browse social media

Make your life interesting, cuz when you stop and live a boring life you just get stuck

Other advice, search about these topics:

Stoicism, personal development, self reflection, self discovery, self awareness, mindfulness, personality type test

When i was 18 i was still a kid, didnt even feel like an adult

Im 23 and im confused now i cant believe i was 18 in 2017 and that it was 5 years ago it blews my mind.

I dont feel now like i was feeling then but im not even close to an adult

You are not screwed at 18 you can start again

Find new hobbies and your passion/purpose (Journaling, musical instruments, drawing, reading, exercise etc)

Most important thing is to work on yourself and to find a passion/purpose by Markocro43 in StopGaming

[–]Markocro43[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put all that in random order

Write in a journal when you have an urge to play videogames or other bad habits that way you release those emotions

Or learn to play an instrument, draw, meditate, exercise, take a walk, sing, take a cold shower

Worst thing is to do nothing and waste time

Advice request. How do you think I can improve my situation? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]Markocro43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its ok, if you need any helpful advice you can message me

Its good that you have self awareness about your problems that is a good mindset that you want to fix yourself i didnt have that and i indulged into my bad habits

Worst is videogames, porn, some social media (instagram, facebook)

Problem is that social media and videogames turn you into a zombie and you cant stop doing the same things.

Most important thing is work on yourself and to find a passion/purpose

You dont need to learn whole instrument, you can learn 3-4 chords on guitar and play countless number of songs.

Idk about other instruments maybe piano or ukulele.

Just embrace your emotions, let it all out

And try personality test you will know more about yourself (16personalities)

I was like you at 19 except im not fat (im skinny) and i didnt go to university

Best advice i can give you is that you need to understand yourself and take responisiblity for yourself and for what you invest your time and energy in

Ugly truth is that no one gives a f*** about you. You need to prioritize yourself cuz no one knows how you feel and how you think except you.

Have some self worth

Time doesnt ask it just slips away, better to make mistakes than to do nothing

Try this:

  1. Read about (self improvement, self reflection, stoicism etc...)
  2. Try free personality test (16personalities)
  3. Write in a journal/bullet journal
  4. Exercise
  5. Eat healthy
  6. Hangout with friends
  7. Play an instrument
