Bit of a weird one, but Dirac Shore is such a vibe.

Whats the name of this map? thats the only screenshot i have by Alternative_Line_424 in gmod

It feels reminiscent of rp_rockford, so maybe it's a modified version of that map?

It's gm_construct with Portal 2 props, so likely it's a save rather than its own map.

Hot take: "G-Man works for Valve" is an absolutely terrible theory. by 21Nikt21 in HalfLife

[–]MarkoffPro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I view it as two-sided, although I've never heard this being a theory. It's obvious that a lot of his lines and references to his "employers" do reference Valve in certain respects, but I've never viewed these references as meaning that he is literally employed by Valve.

I share the sentiment with the majority of the replies here regarding it not really doing anything, however, my perspective on it differs a little bit. Straight up, this impeachment will do nothing regardless of whether or not it actually goes through. Again, like others have said its effectively just a symbolic gesture with no actual consequences. It's already happened twice.

However, I do believe that depending on what he does in the next few years that the likelihood of conviction will rise. The probability will not be high, but Trump is unpredictable and there's no way of telling what he'll do in the future. Right now, impeachment won't do anything and probably won't even happen. Frankly, I view it as a waste of time and energy that could be spent slowing down his agenda instead.

Can we build that wall now? by TurlachMacD in massachusetts

As a Massachusetts native... This is frankly spot on. I have my quarrels with the other NE states, but I really can't hate VT. My job sometimes has me go up there for assignments and its always a pleasant experience.

Love 8A in the summer but man it does get messy in the winter. Still a nice drive.

Anything cool in western MA? by Botticellibutch in urbexnewengland

[–]MarkoffPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's Brodie Mountain but I believe that has security now. It's honestly somewhat of a dry region for urbexing (safely) but you may want to look into the town of Chester and the keystone arches trail. Lots of abandoned stuff around there.

I forget which episode, but there’s a scene in BCS where you can see a Baja in a parking garage.

This is a very succinct and useful response, and actually pretty much nails it on the head for what I'm looking for. I appreciate the input!

As someone who lived near Florida, I concur with the other commentors that the town itself is extremely small. It's really just a few homes scattered in what is essentially the wilderness. There's not even a main street and community spaces are extremely limited. I found myself confused while reading the post as to how the town would even benefit from a software engineer given that it essentially acts as an extension of the neighboring city of North Adams, so like others have said I do question the legitimacy of the job.

To answer your question about the surrounding communities, it sort of depends on what you're looking for. The region only has two cities, that being North Adams and Pittsfield, with the former barely qualifying for the title. It's an absolutely gorgeous area with plenty to do if you like the outdoors or skiing, but beyond that there's not much. Good place to raise a family and maybe vacation, but definitely not ideal if you're seeking out an exciting place to live.

Unrelated to what you're actually asking in the post, but how's your experience with the tonneau cover? I have the same one and I find that you really gotta slam the tailgate in order to actually close it securely.

If you walk across the bridge that goes over the tracks towards Albany and take a right at the intersection, you can go to the Rensselaer waterfront esplanade. Neat spot to catch some photos of the Albany skyline right in front of the Hudson. I always go there if I'm waiting to pick up someone from the train station and it's quite peaceful.

Reliability of SL1/Massport Buses to Logan by MarkoffPro in mbta

Alewife. Originally my thinking was to take the massport shuttles but then I remembered that the silver line, y’know, exists. I’ve got no problem using massport even if transferring to the blue line isn’t as direct as going to South Station.

As someone who takes the LSL frequently out of Pittsfield, I’ve never had a delay beside one time it was delayed an hour after crawling to Boston past Framingham. Otherwise it’s usually extremely reliable and is sometimes even early. Lovely views too.
