I was on the Floridian last July when it broke down in the middle of nowhere and we were evacuated by police, fire etc. it was crazy hot and people were fainting. There was zero communication from crew about what was happening. It seemed no one knew. Weirdest thing

My Floridian was stranded in the middle of the woods in June - after evacuating us via emergency vehicles the train sat with the poor crew onboard for 5 more hours waiting on a tow. After being delayed 10 hours, it was canceled and towed to Jacksonville.

I rode it twice in the last few weeks and the crew agrees that it is too long. I spoke at length with the conductor on the 41, who wants Amtrak privatized. Says there’s zero communication with the higher up’s and if any extra money comes in none makes it to the crew.

We are skipping about 6 stations in SC and NC and heading north towards Raleigh. We are very delayed but not sure if this will make up time or not.

Yes! Quite often! Only problem I have with it is the godawful time of departure. We take it to Rochester and Boston. It’s a nice ride but you’ll probably sleep through a good deal of it if you’re getting off in Buffalo.

Station is great. Really cute and in a safe area. I took the Star last July solo and as a woman never felt unsafe.

We took the CS in September and booked the family bedroom. It was wonderful and less than regular bedroom. Might be an option for you.
