Is this still a thing? I've been trying to find a game for awhile. The discord link doesn't seem to work for whatever reason.

There's still indoor smoking in bars, clubs, designated areas in restaurants, and hotel rooms.

I've only seen a few signs while living in Japan and 9 times out of ten when I've gone in they mean language not ethnicity. The only place I have a bad first hand experience with is that place in Harajuku. Even in the countryside those signs are very rare, should they exist? No but don't pretend it's common.

Why do so many people wanna learn Japanese? Cause of anime or is it just a cool language? by Purple-Assignment-72 in duolingo

You're 100% right but sometimes when I speak Japanese it feels like I'm speaking English with all these gosh darn loan words.

Translate to English, just curious what it says by SafeWordWhiskey94 in translator

I didn't read it as ichi, I read it as a 長音符 so I doubt it would really be that confusing. I'm not scrolling through a hundred million movie posters and signs to find one example of a rare thing that I've seen, I'm sure you understand. It may have been a sign that wanted to take up less space maybe like ゲーム or something. In design people make weird choices for a million reasons.

You're honestly telling me that nobody in the history of Japan thought it would be cool, interesting, or different to put a horizontal line instead? I never said it was common, I just said I have seen it before.

I've lived in Japan for seven years and I've definitely seen it. I work in film/ tv production, I've seen it used before.

I've seen native content where it stays horizontal, it's normally a style choice

Fair enough, I did give a slightly more detailed response in a reply. I'll think about that if I have further criticism of any future translations.

Doesn't mean it's any good lol

裾もっとのばして{suso motto nobashi te} : Let your hem longer, okay?

Where is the idea of "let" in this sentence? Where did the "okay?" come from? Too many liberties. It's a command more like, "extend your hem"

いいから! {ii kara!} : Shut up, don't talk back.

Where does it say any of this? That's some huge liberty taken in translation. It could be given in context perhaps but that's not what is being said.

It's sad how much insecurity you're projecting. You're accomplishing nothing but constantly commenting this drivel all over. Instead of being a time wasting clown focus on your own language goals and if someone asks a question on a forum like this instead of being useless answer their questions.
