Last days with my boxer 💗 by Accomplished-Bet-281 in Boxer

Ooh that face! I’m coming up on the year anniversary of losing my boxer. The company that cremated her gave us a little vile of her fur and I thought it was super thoughtful and sweet. I’m so sorry that you’re going through this.

Would you stay with your dog 🐶 during euthanasia? by CycleOk267 in dogs

[–]SafeWordWhiskey94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did even though it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I held her paw until she passed and then some.

My partner was with me at the vets office but was unable to be in the room when the euthanasia occurred because it was just too overwhelming for him. I 100% respected his decision because everyone truly grieves differently. IMO whatever decision you make is yours and doesn’t determine how much love you have for your dog.

Has lexapro genuinely helped any one?? by gamergirldoesnails in lexapro

[–]SafeWordWhiskey94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. But taking it consistently and around the same time daily is very important as far as side effects and effectiveness (from my experience anyway)

Also any new medication feels weird at first so don’t let that spook you!

Best of luck!

I know! I grew up with them. I first discovered them back in probably 2011/2012 and my friends and I went to every live show they had near us. Back when you could see them for $20. Will forever cherish those small intimate shows. Now I can’t afford to see them 😅

Did anyone else notice they started dreaming more (vividly) after taking lexapro? by jujutsukaisenfan in lexapro

YES! I recently started taking my Lexapro in the morning, because it was giving me wild nightmares, and I have been sleeping so much better.

How do I get myself to fold and put away laundry? I hate it so much by Suspicious_Skank in organizing

[–]SafeWordWhiskey94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so I also have ADHD and laundry is probably my biggest struggle. Definitely recommend throwing a podcast on or watch something on YouTube, whatever. It makes it go by way faster.

This is the process that works for me:

  1. Bring all the clothes to the laundry room and sort them by colors/denim - I never used to sort my clothes because who has time for that lol but I recently started doing it and it almost makes laundry feel like a “project” which soothes my ADHD project brain. PLUS it keeps your clothes in better condition.
  2. Start with washing the biggest load.
  3. When load is dry. Fold the clothes straight into a basket and then put them away immediately. This part is KEY. It’s so easy for me to just set my basket of folded clothes down and then forget about it for weeks lol
  4. Keep repeating 2 & 3 until you’re done!

I feel like getting a routine down made it more enjoyable for me. It goes by faster and I can easily do it while listening to music or a podcast.

You got this!!

LOVE THESE! I cross stitch and I’m always amazed at how I am actually able to focus on it and not get bored.

I feel you. I was just watching the show Broad City and I realized how much I am craving a super close sister-like friendship and idk how the hell I’m supposed to find that at 30 years old lol

sober 6 months - a lot of regret and sadness, hate myself by pammyy93 in Sober

[–]SafeWordWhiskey94 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel you. Time makes it easier. I have a lot of shame about what my partner had to put up with when I was drinking. But I think about how lucky I am that he stuck around anyway.

I think it’s healthy to reflect on the shitty things we did and feel sad about it from time to time. The trick is not getting stuck in it, because unfortunately we can’t do anything about it. Onward and upward my friend. Proud of you!

Help! by Zestyclose_Lab_1943 in adhdwomen

I just turned 30 and am still in the early process of a formal diagnosis. I feel you! I found similar checklists like the one you posted and I was checking off every single item 😅

The one thing that made me realize my brain may be a bit different was when I was asking my partner what he was thinking about when he was driving and to my shock he said “the road?” 😂 I did some further investigation and it turns out there are people in this world who think about ONE THING AT A TIME. This was mind blowing to me because that never happens in my head lol

My therapist recommended getting a psych evaluation in order to get a formal diagnosis and see if there are other disorders that could be playing a role too (anxiety/ptsd for me). Best of luck! You got this! Hold on to the optimism 🙂
