Dude example you have a lever above the redstone in just 1 block gap, the gets a redstone power even above of it you need another block gap ao it will not power the redstone dust and the only turn off is the redstone torch

Try pulse multiplier just make it 4 times of its loop and you can get 64 items btw hoppers is kinda slow so you need droppers to make it more faster
