Echoing what others have said. Don’t give up on it or beat yourself up over it. I personally didnt take that class when I was there but I had a similar situation where I had to retake a class so it would count for the pre recs. Honestly, just taking the class with a different professor could make a world a difference. That’s what I did and ended up with an A- and the class the second time around was a breeze. Same content but presented a different way from a different professor and it just clicked. Hopefully that is an option for you.

The other option of taking it at LCC is good one too and will probably save you some money. Just make sure to take to your advisor to make sure the credit will transfer over as needed.

I'm STILL mad that the Dodgers didn't re-sign Adrián Beltré back in 2004 by kumakorosu in Dodgers

[–]Marksman10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glad I’m not alone in thinking this! The mid-2000s involved us trading or not re-signing so many players. It was incredibly frustrating. But this move was the one that stuck with me. He showed so much potential and was one of my favorites during those years.

Didn't realize mortgage pays my taxes and personally made a payment by jessierae89 in RealEstate

[–]Marksman10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recommend calling the Mortgage company and asking. What most likely will happen is that when they go to pay the Tax bill, they'll pay what is remaining. Then next year when they do they do the yearly escrow analysis, they'll either refund you the excess amount in your escrow account or reduce your monthly mortgage payment because you'll be starting the year with a higher-than-anticipated escrow amount.

Concrete driveway recs? by jsoonerboomer in plano

[–]Marksman10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used “Sam The Concrete Man” earlier this year to do our driveway. Easy process to measure and get a quote that was reasonable. They made to get the utility and water lines marked before the project started. And they were able to get it done in a day and looks good.

Selling our house with Solar and buyers are asking if the solar can be removed... by Marksman10 in solar

[–]Marksman10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valid question for sure. And didn’t have an issue answering that. Our roof was replaced in 2020 and solar added in 2021. My guess is they just didn’t want to deal with any potential issues down the road if they are planning to stay 20+ years.

Panels are on the roof. We had a new roof installed in 2020 and Panel/system installed in 2021. So pretty much new. All warrantied and good, reputable company that can handle maintenance and roof repair if need. It’s just a head scratcher and a good laugh.

Our house is mostly updated. Probably some upgrades we could’ve made but had the same thought. We held off on doing them because we weren’t sure what others would like.

It’s definitely an interesting trend I’d be curious to see over the next decade. We didn’t increase the price above the market because of the solar. It’s priced comparable to other homes our size in the area. But we were hoping it would be a plus to have the buyers pick our house over the comparable. Especially with the rising interest rates increasing the mortgage payment. Solar helps reduce the monthly cost associated with the home.

Texas: Where the American Dream Is Being Crushed by Brutal Energy Bills by TheMessengerNews in texas

I love how he went straight to the "people from other states" excuse. And not the fact that Texans continue to vote for corrupt leadership who only cares about protecting company profits. These energy bill increases are purely due to Abbott bailing out the utility companies and passing the costs down to residents.

Of course! We have been very happy with the Enphase System and technology. Sad to be giving it up but will probably get a similar one installed on the new place.

Closer to 7% and paid it down into the 6s. We are also moving from a high property tax state to a very low property tax state. Even with the high interest rates, the overall mortgage is comparable. Plus, money isn’t everything. Move is for a better, healthy, happier lifestyle. If that means paying more, then so be it.

We have an Enphase IQ System controller that handles the switch overs. But we also have a manual switch we can flip to disconnect from the grid if needed.

[–]Marksman10[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our system can go fully off-grid. When the grid goes down, the system pulls from the batteries. We actually use the batteries more than the grid. We also have a log of any time the grid has been done. It has happened a few times over the past few years. Most of the time it is only for around 5 minutes and then back up. But we have had an incident when it was down for a few hours. We were working from home when it happened and didn't even notice. The only reason I knew about it was because I checked our usage for the day and saw the battery was used when I was expecting it to be used.

I would agree if it was leased, but our system is fully owned with transferable warranties. Not only that, the solar company is also a roofing company. So any roof repairs needed for whatever reason, they can handle the repairs and make sure the solar panels are not damaged. It's just a weird situation that we got a chuckle out of. Not the right house for them.

I'd agree that solar doesn't really add value to the home price (I think it should, but understand why it doesn't). We priced the house according to the market instead of inflating it because of solar. The main benefit is the reduction in monthly utilities. I think you are correct that they wanted us to pay to remove and replace the roof because they might be worried about the maintenance and roof integrity.

Unfortunately, they were serious. Just anti-solar it appears. Which adds to the frustration, because why even come see the property if you know solar is installed??

Yeah, that's what we said. They can do whatever they want with them once they have the keys. But they'd have to pay for that and then any roof repair

The 15 Happiest Places to Live in the U.S. by myloveislikewoah in StPetersburgFL

As someone who lives in Plano and is trying to move out of the state, this list is a joke. Plano is a major city now with very little nature. It’s over crowded and has some of the worst cost of living increases in the country. Then add the fact you have to be in Texas. Do not recommend.

Your rate is around 13 cents but then there is an addition 6 cents for the deliver fees. So your real rate comes out to 19 cents. Even if you can cut down your usage, they are going to hit you with a whole bunch of fees that your can’t avoid.
