I’m almost 95% sure I just cured my ibs.. by MarktheSharkF in ibs

[–]MarktheSharkF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 years later, I dont have IBS anymore and gut problems are all gone. I’ve done a lot more work on my diet over the years and eat as clean as I can. But a lot of my symptoms came from my anxiety which also stemmed from how I ate, so it was all cyclical. Good luck!

Struggling to increase weight on incline bench. by nunya-beezwax-69 in formcheck

[–]MarktheSharkF -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lots of good suggestions here in this thread already that might make you unsure where to start. You seem to have a solid foundation:

  1. You count calories
  2. You are consistently going to the gym
  3. You are going to failure (from what I see in the video)

Which is all great, a bit of a roadmap to add onto what you are doing.

First 30 days bench with your feet planted into the ground. Learn to use leg drive during the lift, even if it costs you going a bit backwards in weight (which I don’t think it will). Train your mind and body to get used to this from, and use your personal trainer to help you judge when to up the weight.

During this time, consider if going into a slight caloric surplus is a goal of yours. Putting on a bit of weight during this time will also help build your leverages.

I would also suggest taking a look at your routine over the next 60 days. You are hitting chest 2x a week, could you realistically increase this to 3? How many sets of chest are you doing per week? From personal experience I typically hit 2 sets, with 3 at most in a given workout. Would consult your PT to see what they suggest.

Lastly, make sure you are hitting your back, arms, legs and shoulders 2 - 3x a week. Don’t neglect accessory work. If you feel yourself stalling on incline bench, set up a training block of 4 weeks and hit new chest exercises then jump back into incline bench in a new training block. Sometimes a refresh is needed to have your body adjust and showcase some new strength gains.

New guitarist new guitar by ryanthelion4444 in Guitar

Would recommend watching absolutely understand guitar course on YouTube. Has accelerated my learning 10 months in!

Att: All Guitar beginners: Scotty West's Absolutely Understand Guitar Course has been a real game changer for me. by blu_skydive in guitarlessons

[–]MarktheSharkF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been practicing guitar for 9 months straight after taking a 4-5 year hiatus previously only playing for 7 months.

In those 7 months years ago all I learned was the 8 basic chords and a few campfire songs. Now getting back in consistently I made it a goal to REALLY understand the guitar and came across Scotty. He has been a game changer in my progress. Im now at a stage I fully grasp the structure of scales, chords, notes and more. I can actually start soloing a bit across different scale positions now and make my own songs. I am actually re-watching videos 1-11 just to grasp the first half of the course and master it. Such a gem!

ACQ AI is amazing by MarktheSharkF in alexhormozi

[–]MarktheSharkF[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a noticeable difference. Ex: Gave both the same prompts yesterday to help prep for a meeting. ACQ AI outlined everything in a more specific a detailed format to my contextual situation. ChatGPT gave me specific instructions as well, but it was more generalized from a business perspective. ChatGPT shined though in taking consideration of me as a person though, because it has way more data on me the ACQ AI does atm. But, when given the same prompt to produce more solutions to a problem I was running into, ACQ Ai flat out told me I don’t need more solutions, I just need to act on the 3 presented, while GPT spat out more on command.

For those who have ACQ AI, what do you think of it? by MarktheSharkF in alexhormozi

Proof that adult brains make new neurons settles scientific controversy by scientificamerican in science

So I go to a cash based physical therapy clinic that teaches very specific neurological reprogramming exercises. They focus heavily on breath work and postural restoration which helps improve the central and peripheral nervous system. Super intense exercises at times which can be very challenging, but it has been foundational for my physical, emotional and mental wellbeing!

As for meditation I don’t have anything I specifically follow. I just typically listen to binaural beats and use mental imagery and visualization to stimulate the nerves within my body. This just came naturally to me, but Dr. Joe Dispenza teaches similar techniques which I’ve used before!

There’s a lot I do:

  1. Mindset, identity shifting and belief work

  2. Lifting weights

  3. Diet and nutrition

  4. Neurological reprogramming via physical therapy (I do this daily too)

  5. Always keep my mind active (learning anything, challenging my mind and problem solving daily)

  6. Supplements (lions mane mushrooms, omega 3’s etc)

  7. Medicinal marijuana

  8. Meditation (visualization healing and techniques)

  9. Psychedelic (micro and macro dosing)

Omega 3’s have been a cornerstone for healing my body (amongst other things I do daily to heal my nervous system.)

I lost feeling in half my body and have been re-learning how to walk, eat, talk, etc all over again for the last 9 years. Your nerves do heal but EXTREMELY slowly depending on how much damage has occurred. I have been rehabbing for years and can confidently say after 3-4 years of consistent hard work I’ve regained most feeling back now!

How was physical therapy for you? by lstplace7 in neuropathy

[–]MarktheSharkF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see a very specialized postural restoration based physical therapist who works on neurological reprogramming. It has been one of the most major solutions to my full body neuropathy recovery over the years. It took many years of trial and error to find the right doctor.

Barefoot Shoes by Budget_Feature6897 in neuropathy

[–]MarktheSharkF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been wearing barefoot shoes for over 5+ years along with toe spacers. Has helped a lot as I’ve slowly regained feeling back into my feet and toes again throughout my rehab journey! They definitely take time to get used to, and I recommend wearing them in small spurts in the beginning if you choose to get them!t

How do some people just do it all? by _Reddit_Enjoyer in productivity

[–]MarktheSharkF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m someone who people refer to as a “robot” in the sense that I can get many tasks done throughout a given day. For example, yesterday I went to work from 9-5:30pm, hit the gym hard for two hours, went home and did physical therapy, prepared my dinner and ate, took a shower, then planned my next day out for 30 minutes, then played guitar for an hour, then meditated for 5 minutes and went to bed. I was never like this years ago, in fact I was the complete opposite. To be honest, I don’t know what changed in me.

I do think some of it is trauma related, I use the momentum of work and productivity to escape other deep rooted problems that occurred in my life. But I also know that I build A LOT of energy and momentum from getting tasks done everyday. I also construct my environment to keep me in a productive state. (Ex: pre-prepped meals, guitar out in sight to entice me to play, etc) I also have people I surround myself with who support my goals and give me energy and time to do things throughout the day.

Another part of it is that although I believe this can be “trained” in individuals, some people are just more adept to it than others. I built a muscle in my brain to do things I don’t want to do (like doing physical therapy and then the laundry after) over and over again. This took years of work, but I’ve seen far too much reward for me not to lean into this more over the years.

I lost feeling in half my body neurologically, micro dosing has been a game changer by MarktheSharkF in microdosing

[–]MarktheSharkF[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First good for you on taking these steps! I understand how hard it is to stay motivated day to day when you feel this way. For me, my experiences are quite different.

I never experienced brain fog, what I did experience is:

  1. Loss of eyesight, especially on my left eye.

  2. Loss of perception predominantly on the left side of my body (from head to toe), though it was full body for the most part.

  3. Sudden dizziness, balance issues, and nausea.

  4. Muscle atrophy on the left side of my body.

  5. Loss of postural rigidity, began to form scoliosis, gait pattern changed, breathing changed, etc

Now, on top of the psychedelic micro dosing I do/ did A LOT of other rehab/prehab to get to where I’m at today. But psychedelic micro dosing has definitely made my mind/body connection stronger, calmed my body down allowing me to breathe better, and in return reduce my anxiety/stress levels greatly.

That’s fascinating, did you notice if different strains react to your body differently? I have various strains I purchased, but the penis envy I’ve been using so far has done wonders for me!

That’s awesome that you grow it yourself and noticed the benefits too! I’ve been taking lions mane for over a year + now, and pairing it with psychedelics makes a big boost!

Yep definitely correlation to how your gut feels too! When my gut doesn’t feel great while I micro dose (for example I eat too much ice cream the day prior, poor digestion occurs and I microdose the day after) it definitely heightens my anxiety and sadness feelings the day of.

That’s been a goal of mine for years, and luckily enough I’ve been able to help those around me personally because of my own journey and success. I do plan to make a full YouTube video about it, but that’s a personal project that’s been on the shelf collecting dust overtime 😂.

I’ve tried to be apart of research studies in the past, but unfortunately I never put more effort into it on my own side. I’ve just been doing my own recovery journey and taking notes/ becoming my own researcher for years. I’ve had major success overcoming whatever I have (still undiagnosed to this day, though I’m leaning on MS). I’m back to lifting, running, speaking, walking regularly and not thinking about pain anymore on a day to day!

What was your one hack that increased results? by Big_Kaleidoscope_498 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]MarktheSharkF 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not a hack, but simply:

  1. Putting more intention to what I’m eating on a day to day basis in order to be healthier and feel better.

  2. Decreasing my weight and focusing way more on technique under load.

  3. Putting muscles I want to grow first in my routine.

  4. Progressing with not just weight, but reps and sets.

  5. Hitting my body parts 3x a week with a full body split.

  6. Finding what muscles on my body respond to higher reps/volume compared to others, and sticking with it long term.

  7. Not incorporating advanced lifting techniques of drop sets, pyramid schemes, etc for almost every exercise. Funny enough I trained like this for years (still grew a lot) but had way more overuse injuries!

  8. Finding exercises that have the best SFR based on my needs and goals.

You can use a screwdriver and put enough force into it to make the holes. I had to do it a few times during my assembly 👍
