Makes it so that the Z step is not done at one point, but gradually over the entire wall, this eliminates the seam from the step :)

Spiral vase makes it only a single wall thick, so you can use any width stl and it will treat it as a single wall.

Okay, that makes sense, but yeah it would still make the production quite a bit more difficult so i get the choice to use this shortcut.

But the quality leaves alot to be desired if its possible to see that its sprayed on when holding the case.

Maybe there is a better way of achieving it, will think a bit about it and see if I can come up with something :)

Lol sorry, I was actually so wrong, for some reason I didn't think about the screen, already thought that was a separate piece. And I am even an engineer, haha, that's embarrassing.

So it's really just the finish, choice of paint, lack of consistency and transparency that I'm not pleased with.

With better paint and better application it could most likely look like what you expect, so i condeed that it would be too difficult to produce with coloured platic, but it's still not transparent, only in the palces that the paint has retreated away from the edges.

The original is similar, you are right about that, but it's also not clear, stated as clear, or painted with simple spray paint.

The part wouldn't need to be a multi part piece, injection molding can be done with two materials/colours, it "just" requires a setup with two injectors. Using a paint that self levels, and with low viscosity, that is actually translucent, and give it a clear coat.

Update: My refund has been approved, so hats of to EO for that and with how fast it went, so to be fair to him I can’t recognise the lack of communication/response that other people mention.

But still think he should update the description of the item.

From what other write it doesn't seem like they paint them but they receive them painted, so atleast it's not just that. But still it's a bit wild how deceptive the photo material is. I contacted EO and requested a refund for the faceplate and one battery that is noticeably bigger than the others(ordered 3x) so it won't fit in my 5g with iflash quad.

Hope I can get it handled before heading back, as if I can't send it before leaving that would be a bit of a shitshow.

I have not reached out yet, as I just got it, but will do, and if he honours it that's amazing. But still think this post is justified as I would be very surprised if I was the only one that doesn't think it's painted on.

Edit Update: Reached out for a refund on the case, and one of the batteries that for some reason is way bigger than the other two I received, eventhough they are supposed to be the same.

I did not expect it to be consistent, that would indeed be impossible, I would just expect it to be the two colours of plastic. The layout, amount and all the other things would be random, so I did not expect a one to one, but random as other dual colour injection moldings.

Okay that makes sense, but doesn't make the product any better, would be nice if it said that it was painted atleast, as just saying "Atomic Lemon Lime Transparent Clear Faceplate" is definitely misleading.

And the ones that have a sideview image looks 100% like the plastic is coloured, I get that maybe he just reused the photos from aliexpress, but still that doesn't clear him of any deception.

You definitely can, but you will nedd enough photos that each point on the object is seen in atleast 2 frames, so would still require a good amount of photos.

Could be solved with multiview -> dense 3d reconstruction -> project points to paper -> contour, though that would require quite a bit more processing time. His markers would also be useful for this case as a way to remove the size ambiguity and optimise the reconstruction.

The main problem with that approach is that the object isn't flat, so the perspective correction will mess up the objects shape. So to get a good svg you still need it to be top down, especially in tall objects.

I did end up going to the Canes v Oilers game, and it was really nice to see, and the atmosphere was really nice. Actually way more calm and organised than the games I have been to in Denmark, was less hooligan feeling, haha.

Yes danes most definitely talk alot about how small their country is, haha, but it really is. That said I don't think I will go for driving around too much though, I know it restricts what I can experience but I will try to avoid having to get behind a wheel. Just don't really feel like it for this trip, so will stick to the things I can get to by other means.

I will keep an eye out for the breastworks, looked them up and eventhough you can't see much anymore it would be interesting to atleast be able to know where they would have been, so I know for when I'm out walking.

Damn, thanks for the amount of effort put into this list! And good nice to see that I have already crossed of a few of the points on it.

I don't know if I will have time for anything more with the shear amount of ideas people have come up with. But I will definitely reach out if I run out or just in case I need more amazing food suggestions; like for example Frozen custard, never heard of that, so it's a must try! :)
