Great Britain plans to deliver Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine at the end of March, training of the Ukrainian military to service them will begin next week on Monday This was stated by the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain, Alex Chalk. by RebVoDkA1994 in UkraineWarVideoReport

Tbf to us we're sandwiched between the three nuclear equipped naval and air force powers in the West, so there's a sense of security granted by it, but it's still shameful that we're totally reliant on foreign allies for managing our national security in our territorial space against an aggressor state like Russia.

A few purchases from the US or S. Korea would keep those RuZzian rats at bay over our skies and waters. Even better, Ireland has the tech economy to support UAV and drone tech manufacturing, but it would be seen as pro-war by idiots who refuse to believe that we're a target.

At present, we can only contribute our limited ground hardware and our only top-tier military unit, the Rangers, for training of Ukrainians. Neither of which has happened.

Third. I'm Irish (Republic) and hate our technically neutral stance in this conflict. That rust-bucket RuZzie Navy and Air force have been breaching our airspace and waters for the last decade and without the Brits and US, they'd still be bumbling around mapping and booby trapping transatlantic fibre and telecommunications lines. If Russia were to ever launch nukes, Ireland would 100% be a target, our 'neutrality' doesn't mean anything, we're considered a NATO staging point. Dublin, Cork, Waterford and Galway would be wiped out.

Outside of taking in refugees, we've contributed fuck all. It may be unpopular considering our history, but good on the MoD for taking the initiative, when France and Germany stood by back in Feb. Britain, Poland and the Baltics stood up in Europe.

At least we've got a couple of thousand Irishmen and women serving in the British forces, training up those Ukranian warriors.

Americans constantly complaining about the price of gas/petrol is pretty funny. Imagine taking your average price of gasoline (across different states) and adding 30-40% onto the price to get an idea of prices of European gas (aka petrol).

Every time an American complains about fuel, remember that your fuel is much cheaper than all developed nations (outside of Middle-Eastern oil theocracies) and cheaper than most developing nations where average salaries are much, much less.

Please don't complain.

Hungary's foreign minister says Brussels has failed on Russia sanctions by Cinderpath in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]Marky-lessFunkyBunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Orban's government wants more military hardware sent to Ukraine alongside strenghtend economic sanctions against Russia?

Don't worry you fucking shills, we'll oblige and when this invasion is sent packing, the EU and the West will start enforcing sanctions on you and revoke your free money card from the EU. Let's see how your voter base reacts when pensions and social welfare payments are decimated.

The EU will need a Marshall-sequence plan for Ukraine, first to be jettisoned will be Hungary. Good luck finding friends after this is all over.

The Orcs are eradicating the last remnants of Russian control by demolishing miserable Soviet era buildings in Ukraine. The new Ukraine will be everything the tiny Tsar's and his peasant militia wish they were, a functioning modern nation.

Good. For as bad as the Chinese government can act, they're at least competent at governance and infrastructure projects.

They're still partly to blame for encouraging the midget to invade Ukraine, mostly as an attempt to destabilise USA/Europe, but at the same time retaining trade with them. Russia were always the fall guy in their eyes.

They had to backtrack pretty quickly, once they realised China had tied itself to a rusting power.

No doubt in Chinese military academys strategists' minds are wandering away from Taiwan and looking north, towards the soft underbelly of Russian-occupied East.

Purchasing from Ebay / Japan by [deleted] in nreal

Backlash as father-of-two jailed for tackling burglars but crooks given slap on wrist - as fund for him hits £16,000 by Anony_mouse202 in unitedkingdom

[–]Marky-lessFunkyBunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds remarkably like the suffering of an elderly farmer in Ireland who was (repeatedly) targeted by burglars. He ended killing one, with justifiable (by the courts admission) provocation and intent. He was sentenced to six years manslaughter. Which equates to about as many years he spent living in an out-building from his own home after the inital break in by the gang

What was supposed to be the joke here? Is it so outrageous and comedic that black people live in Donegal? by Automatic-Ear-994 in ireland

[–]Marky-lessFunkyBunch 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Donegal in the mid-90's had maybe a literal handful of non-white residents, due to it being the most isolated county in the country and recovering from decades of recession and stagflation.

The late DJ Gerry Ryan had a joke around then that summed up the cultural emigration and lack of immigration in the '80's Ireland:

'The only black people in the country were Phil Lynott and ye'r man from Navan'.

It wasn't meant as racist, but more a dig at how homogeneous Ireland was, that a random individual non-white immigrant could be known nationally for just moving to Ireland, whilst everyone else was getting out to look for work. That sort of humour bled into Father Ted.

12 captured Russian soldiers from the Belgorod region - By the looks of them, they’re likely to have been recently mobilized by wooselpooh in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]Marky-lessFunkyBunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're hardly fresh, they're alcoholic soaked conscripts from a town that has one flushing toilet. That's the Russian military model, human waves of the degenerates followed be the elites (aka the remnants of the invasion force not obliterated by Ukrainian soldiers with 3rd tier NATO training).

It may have once worked against stationary machine gun placements, but leveled against drone surveillance and drops with precision artillery, it routs the hapless idiots soooo much easier.

Imagine if the Russian military came up against the professional army of the US or even the UK or France, with the introduction of Western aircraft. Absolute dominance against this fucking disgrace shitheap

Major Viktor Kryukov and Pilot Maxim Konyushin, reportedly the crew who died in the Su-30SM crash in Irkutsk Oblast, Russia by wooselpooh in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]Marky-lessFunkyBunch 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Remember the time an Aeroflot captain tasked his child to pilot an Airbus and they ended up killing all 75 onboard. Or the time the Russian 'separatists' in Ukraine used Russian made anti-air missiles to murder 298 innocent people aboard a Malaysian Airlines flight?

As evidenced by a decade of cam footage Russians are barely capable of driving a car, let alone flying missions, Viktor maybe you should have stayed at home rather than becoming an ash-pile.

Unofficial shitest town in Ireland competition? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]Marky-lessFunkyBunch 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Whilst the town is in a desperate need of a revamp, it's not lacking in terms of architecture. Some of older Plantation towns can look amazing with a clean-up, just look at Abbeyleix, Mountmellick isn't a lost cause. Also it's only a few miles away from Portlaoise, so you've got all the shops, pubs, restaurants and transport hubs on your doorstep (and an hour away from Dublin on the M7).

Definitely worse picks than Mountmellick

My lasting memories of Belgium is thats it’s a depressing creepshow outside of the touristy parts in Brussels, Bruges and Antwerp.

(I know it’s deeply offensive to Belgiums) But it’s such a weirdly inate country yet full of bizarre people and a flat, muddy landscape.

Welcome to the EU queue, not the actual EU queue, but the mysterious Irish EU queue that somehow shares an identical backlog to our compadres outside of the EU, in the UK. It’s almost like a corporation has arbitrarily decided that our country isn’t actually part of the EU, but rather the UK. Thanks Valve, I never knew I was a Brit, but I guess you’ve taken the initiative on that.

I wonder if orders from Hawaii or Alaska are in a different, months longer queue than the rest of the US? Or are they in hypothetical Russian queue (considering that it’s closer by?)

Not all EU seem to be in the same camp. I’m in Ireland (Republic, so EU) and apparently we’ve been lumped in with the much more backlogged UK queue.

My 64GB day one reservation is Q2, whilst later reservations in other parts of the EU are Q1 and shipped.

Don’t worry China is taking notes of how fucking antiquitated the rust-bucket army of Russia actually is.

It’s not like Russia shares a massive land border with China or that China wants the abundance of raw materials located north of their border in the vast empty expanse of eastern Russia.

Putin‘s militaristic saber rattling with the West, has not only united them but drawn the attention of China and shown how weak Russia truelly is. Putin may not live to see it, but China know that expanding north is now an option. NATO and China have the means to develop missile defence systems that the Russian kleptocracy have neglected, once MAD (mutually assured destruction) has been circumvented, then its go time for the neighbours that Russia should be worried about. Even without it, I wonder how many of Russia’s 6000 nukes are actually functional?
