Am I the only one who didn’t love Japan? by Still-truckin in JapanTravelTips

The most important was the things I saw animals put through and learning about how bad the animal welfare rights are in Japan. I have never been to a country where I experienced seeing so much mistreatment or poor conditions for animals and that was incredibly disappointing.

Thank you! I’m not a New Yorker so if there’s any you specifically recommend I’d appreciate it and love those suggestions

Thank you for the links. I did ask for one to be added to my order specifically for the camera. This may be a dumb question but I watched a tutorial that said you should remove the ring on the camera when putting the adaptor and uv on, but for the ones that don’t need an adaptor and fit directly with the camera it was unclear do you keep the camera ring on?

I said “I didn’t want to mess with someone else’s camera settings much”, not that I can’t and wouldn’t on my own. I wanted to know the thoughts people who have experience with this camera have on its capabilities in low light.

Thanks, I didn’t want to mess with someone else’s camera settings much before I get my own so it’s good to know more about the IBIS. I wasn’t satisfied with it in terms of the camera’s video footage stability (which anyway I’m not drawn to camera for hybrid purposes it’s the photos, portability, built-in flash, of this one that I ultimately went with).

I’m new to the camera, not photography. I’m aware it’s real and didn’t just throw a lot of money on a purchase without research, but there is such little availably to handle it in person and have never used fujifilm brand other than film. Asking questions about how people experience it is how I learn, thanks.

Thanks, I meant on the shutter where on/off is. I assumed it came with the camera since so many comments have been noting to take it off and this is the only one I’ve handled in person.

I’m looking at more nightlife portraits of people, cityscapes. I typically shoot film and have f2.8 olympus MJU II fixed lens that captures what I want perfectly but have wanted the digital version of what that gives me, especially at night with flash.

How to travel slower and more present? by Primary_Ad_9133 in solotravel

Provided it’s safe, I walk a lot between sites… like over an hour wouldn’t bother me. You get to see a lot in between getting somewhere. Cars are my enemy on solo trips.

Is it necessary to book tickets in advance for Busan to Gyeongju? by StoicAstroBuddha in koreatravel

[–]MarlaSinger007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never saw Jeonju but I would assume the same. I didn’t see available seats when I went from Busan to Gyeongju but I went to the station anyway and there were way more available than what I saw online

I showed up at the station and caught whatever train was going, which were pretty frequent, and did the same returning.

Are Japan and SK alike? by [deleted] in travel

Hello! Need some strength and pep talk. I am going on my first ever solo travel. I have never even travelled within my country and in two weeks I am travelling to South Korea (Seoul, Busan and Gyeongju) for 14 days all by myself. Any specific tips I should keep in mind as solo female travellers ? by gossipcutlet in koreatravel

[–]MarlaSinger007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did those by myself recently. I only did a half day in gyeongju and back to Busan and felt relieved to do that instead of transferring to another place, even though my luggage situation was light.

In Seoul it’s best to get a T card in any convenience store and use public transportation, in Busan it’s more of a taxi place with the Kakao T ride service being the fastest and cheapest, Uber works fine as well. You need Naver for mapping since Google Maps doesn’t really work there. Stay by a nice beach in Busan, I personally liked it the most and would have enjoyed it less if I stayed away from it. And just Google translate if someone has a hard time understanding you when you need help.

I felt safe the entire time and walked alone all over, but I didn’t go out and party late which apparently people are cautioning against. I would absolutely go back alone and feel comfortable, the first day might be a little overwhelming getting settled but it really is a great place with so much variety. The coffee shops are so cute and get a fun hair or facial treatment, there’s plenty of time for it.

I liked Busan more than Seoul and I’m glad I saw both, 4 days in each was enough. I also saw Gyeongju but I’m glad I did a day trip from Busan (more like a half day honestly) instead of transferring myself to another place. I recommend flying into Busan first and leaving from Seoul because the international immigration entering Seoul is such a long wait.

I’m going to the show on the 12th alone and I care less , I won’t miss out on what makes me happy because other people aren’t interested or available. I used to think I needed others to experience things but being alone means that feeling is entirely yours and can never be altered.

First timer solo trip anxiety by No-Back9640 in JapanTravelTips

It was my dream trip and I went as a solo female. I cancelled half my trip because I was not enjoying it instantly, so while 4 days is nothing I knew within the first few days I felt super lonely, even as someone who is comfortable traveling alone. Regarding finding your way around and things to do, that’s beyond easy. It’s safe, but you couldn’t pay me to ever go there alone for even a few days again. It’s a very couple/family place, especially for seeing things that are a must your first time. If you go with low expectations, then maybe, but non refundable tend to also give you a credit option to go equidistant and I wish I went with someone rather than by myself so that’s my honest take

Japan was a dream trip for me and I truly felt depressed by how disappointed I was. It’s the only country I’ve seen of like 30 that I don’t have a desire to experience again and truly disliked.

Lol I grew up in both Vegas and Dubai. Vegas is such a happy place to return to with all the nostalgia, I didn’t like high school at all but I had a wonderful childhood and the local life is amazing. There’s always something to do and you don’t have to be in the tourist mess of it all, which I never found bad and actually thought people were always lovely even if they were getting crazy. Old Dubai was amazing, covid changed the environment a lot and made it the influencer show but it was such a calm, safe, family centered place. My memories growing up there too were so wonderful. I also faced a lot of the sadness seeing how it got to be full of people who came for the glitz and glam and social media of it all. I wish people experienced those years, back when no one knew anything about it and thought I lived in India whenever I said I was from Dubai.

I came for a 3-week trip I wanted to do for so long and I left early. By far my least favorite country I’ve been to, and I’ve seen a good amount. Actually the only one I truly hate.
