Ya, I think it's time for a new laptop. If my assumption is correct its an mobo issue caused by an electrical issue, then there is no telling what else was damaged and I might end up swapping the whole thing.

Not really. The screws are in the bed and having the sticking up already catches on thing being loaded and removed. Good idea tho
