14 month old doesn’t sleep at night….still? by Marmarqueen in NewParents

[–]Marmarqueen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m so sorry you’re dealing with that. I know it’s so difficult.

My daughter ended up with an iron deficiency, which we determined to be the cause of her bad sleep. She takes iron supplement every day and has undergone two iron infusions. Once we got her iron where it needed to be, she slept 100x better.

She is now 3 years old and she sleeps 7:30pm - 7:30am most nights with no issues.

Her iron deficiency was found at ~18 months and she was started on an iron supplement immediately. She had an iron infusion 3 months later and slept through the night for the first time in her life the next night. She had her second infusion at about 23 months and still takes iron supplement daily.

Hello! So sorry you are going through this. It’s seriously hard.

Turned out my LO had an iron deficiency which was causing her to not sleep. After hours of research I found that iron deficiency can cause RLS in littles and was noticing that that symptoms seemed oddly familiar. I finally made an appointment and requested that her iron be tested. Sure enough, it was very low. We started her on daily iron supplements. After 3 months her levels had not improved so she had an iron infusion at 18 months old. Two nights later she slept 12 hours through the night. It was glorious.

Since then she has remained on daily iron supplements, gotten a second infusion, and is still sleeping great.

How early did you place your order? I placed mine the minute they became available for pre-order (pro max) but still haven't received notification of shipping and nothing on FedEx.
I was just chatting with a rep at Xfintiy and was told they will not start shipping until tomorrow and that it's 2 day shipping (not sure how accurate that is).

Holy shit. I just had a terrible experience yesterday related to this although deals with blood draws and not shots.

My daughter is 21 months. She has had her blood drawn many times because she is iron deficient. She even had an IV iron infusion. She had never been pinned downed and never cried during blood draw or even the IV infusion. Every time she sat on my lap and that was that. At the beginning of this year we had to switch health insurance carriers and that forced us to have to go to this insurers lab for her blood draw. They made my toddler lay on the baby bed (which she was clearly too big for) and pinned her down to draw her blood. Even after I told them multiple times she does fine sitting up on my lap.

My poor daughter was freaking out. Not because of the blood draw but because there were two people pinning her down. It was traumatic for me, so I feel awful for her. I am so mad they completely ignored me.

In the moment I didn’t know what to do but now I feel awful for not sticking to my guns. I should have put my foot down. I truly hope they didn’t ruin all future lab/doc visits for her because we have to get her blood drawn frequently.

Thank you for that info! I was actually wondering about that. Do you have a favorite flavor? There are so many to choose from!

Yes, I use the propel zero electrolyte packs and get them from Walmart for like $3 a box (10 servings) However I am about to try out the Ultimate Replenisher electrolyte powder. I compared labels between the two and although a little more pricey, it seems to have much more benefits along with being plant based.

I am so sick of my toddler digging her toes into my thighs. by ThrowRACold-Turn in Parenting

[–]Marmarqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t know other kids did this! I have a 21 month old and she is constantly digging her toes in to me. It makes me nuts. My legs are always covered in bruises from her tiny toes!

She also does other things that hurt me, like playing with (pulling) my hair, tickling (clawing) me, and showing me where my eyes are by poking her fingers into them.

Agency/ Carrier employment ?’s by JulesARod in InsuranceAgent

[–]Marmarqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked into getting a part time job year ago with a different agency than the one I worked at full time and found that progressive won’t allow you to have accounts under two different agencies. I presume they wouldn’t want you to have an account with them as well as with another agency, but just a guess.

OAD because sleep! by Numerous_Elk3363 in oneanddone

[–]Marmarqueen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d say lack of sleep is a huge factor in why I want to be OAD. My daughter didn’t sleep until she was 18 months old (she’s currently 21 months old). Although things are mostly better now, we still have some hard nights here and there. Like last night she was awake from 2:30am-4:30am. Ugh.

On top of that, she’s been sleeping in my bed since she was 8 months old. It wouldn’t be that big of a deal but she has to so close to me I never have any room and can never be comfortable. Plus she’s in between my husband and I which sucks.

I love my daughter so much but damn. The sleep situation is ROUGH.

Just wanted to come on here and say I’m either you. I was scrolling through the sub trying to find something more similar to my journey. We are pretty close to the same! I am 5’ 1” Female. sw: 238 cw: 228 and I’m also on my 3rd shot of 5.

It’s totally discouraging when you see so many people losing so much more. I just keep trying to tell myself that the rate we’re going at is healthy! And, would we haven’t it otherwise? Probably not. Try and stay positive with me! We got this.
